Question about Philips 170S5FB 17" LCD Monitor

Monitor displays fine but flases on and off every couple of seconds

When I boot up my computer, I can see the images on the screen. It does display all of the images as the computer progresses, but it keeps going off and coming back on. The monitor has no physical damage and the image is excellent. It flashes off and on in about 2 second intervals. Thanks!

It sounds like this one needs component-level troubleshooting, probably in the power supply section.

No display it is power is on

Hook up to external monitor .. Does the pre boot screen pop up (black and white writing at start ) ? If display runs on external monitor then your screen needs replacing usually or if you see a vague image on laptop screen then inverter or backlight is gone .. if no display on external and no pre boot screen probably the graphics chip on laptop has malfunctioned.

Is this connected to a laptop?

If so, you need to be sure that you have the monitor output set for an external monitor.

Do a right clock on the desktop, select the bottom item to personalize your display. Select Display Settings and choose to display on both monitors. I usually use the extended display so that I get two screens. If you just want one screen, you select the external monitor as the primary monitor.

Blank HP w1907

If the power light does not turn color and stay's green on startup, it is not a power problem. It is most likely the inverter. If the unit is in warranty, send it out ASAP. Contact HP customer care by email and have the issue logged in.
If in warranty, they will send you a box by FedX second day and have repaired.
This is a 19" monitor and will not be worth paying for repairs if not in warranty.

LCD monitor goes blank

It appears that the display resolution set in your display properties is out of the range that the LCD can display.

Try this.

Boot to the ENABLE VGA MODE by pressing F8 to get the Windows Boot Menu. If you can get to the desktop, then go to display properties, and see if you can change the resolution to higher settings and maintain video. (If the video blanks out, then it should revert to the previous setting in 15 seconds)
