Iomega LDHD-UP hard drive containing dj music and will not read device on any computer to retrieve music

Does the disk show up under "disk management" heres how your browse to disk management:
  1. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Security link.

Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link so just click on the Administrative Tools icon and skip to Step 4.
  3. In the System and Security window, click on the Administrative Tools heading located near the bottom of the window.
  4. In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on the Computer Management icon.
  5. When Computer Management opens, click on Disk Management on the left side of the window, located under Storage.

After a brief loading period, Disk Management should now appear on the right side of the Computer Management window.
If you cant see it in disk management the hard drive has probably physically failed and would require data recovery.

There is nothing you can do: that little fall has destroyed the hard disk's reading heads. This unit is dead, time for a new one.

Connect the hard disk to your computer using the USB cable. After that you can see the hard disk detected icon on you My Computer. Then go the folder which contains the pictures . Right click the folder and copy the pictures . Then come to My Computer , double click the hard disk icon and you can past the folder there and thus the pictures are moved/copied to the harddisk

Icon won't appear on desktop.

It is possible that your USB flash drive is dead.
The other solution is to try it on some other USB port of your PC (if you used front panel USB ports now try it on the back panel).
If it also wont work, try to connect it to some other PC
If it works with an other PC, your USB ports are dead
You can try going to device manager, and to unintall USBs and reinstalling them

Here's my problem, i have a kingston 4GB usb..

I have come across an issue where my USB discs were completely erased "by no reason". I would use it with one client just fine, but when I went to the next, nothing came up. I had to format the drive again and it worked once more. This has happened to me about three times in four years. But it does happen. On your disc, can it be read on some other PC? If it can, then the issue is with the port on your laptop, try a different port. If it can't the it may be the USB drive that went the way of the concorde... out of service after years of functionality. ;-) Have a blessed day, report what happens. -Carlos:

Dead USB external HDD. Disk spins, light is on, but no one is home.

it does sound like the Hard drive enclosures circuit board may be the problem, there are ways to get the data off that will void your warranty, or there are services you can send it to who will get your data back for you and then replace it.

Let me know what your preference is and I can assist you either way.
