Question about Epson Stylus Photo R220 InkJet Printer

Non recognition of genuine Epson cartridge which was already used

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 which have not used for a few months. During this time I removed cartridges and wrapped each one carefully in cling film.

Today I reconnected printer and inserted cartridges - printer is saying that Cyan cartridge is not recognised as genuine yet it is the one I´d used months ago. All the other cartridges are fine.

thanks in anticipation of your help

How to install new cartridge

Make sure the printer is on and not printing. Have a new cartridge handy, as this installation should be done in one session.

Note if the "cartridge is low" or the "cartridge is empty" light is activated on the printer and follow the specific instructions carefully in the document below for each situation.

My printer has a new ink cartridge but does not recognize the ink

What model printer do you have and can you list the print cartridge?
Also have you selected on the onboard printer menu that you have inserted a new cartridge?

Epson Stylus Photo R300 sounds like it's printing

I know there are some cleaning cartridges with a chemical thinner that could clean any ink residual that could interfere with proper function of the printing head.
If this doesn't work you probably have to replace the head.
Check also the flat cable that follows the printing head during movement.

Replace cartridge message with CIS that has been working fine.

Same problem with my R200. In reading solutions across net, said to use genuine Epson yellow and after finished, save chip from it to use on other non-genuine yellow. As soon as I put the genuine Epson yellow in, the problem went away.
