Fist off before you get crazy replacing things make sure the camper is level when testing this. Gas will not run to it if you are not level. Also make sure the gas is turned on and make sure you have selected automatic or gas only on your fridge. Also give it about an hour before you test the temp. These take a bit longer to start feeling cool. If all of that does not work you will need to check the refrigerant, igniter(for the gas side) and the compressor. Also make sure the fuses are good to go at the main panel and that the breakers are in the "on" position
When running on Electric insure that the rear coils of the cooling unit are getting warm. If the refrigerator is level and the coils are warm and the refrigerator does not cool then you more then likely will require a replacement cooling unit. I have attached a small video that may help with the diagnoses. You can also give us a call toll free 1-888-782-6665 ArctiCold Refrigeration We keep it cold
my domestic refrg will not work on electric but will lite on gas. freezer will get cold on gas but bottom will not cool.you can plug refrg in and it will kick the gas off. you unplug refrg on gas will lite.that part of the power board seems to be working.
We were told that its a faulty control board on most Rm2852 units. a factory defect.
Ours did the same thing first the gas would not stay on to cool but the unti worked fine on electric...now the electric is not working...the heater gets hot and burner comes on but does not stay on..they system shuts down..and will not cool. .
Hello,Depending on the age of the unit, it could have a compressor going bad
on it, as the compressor gets hot the valves may not be seating
correctly or may be burning out. You may have also lost some refrigerant, but I am going to lean more to a bad compressor. Thanks
If the unit has a good flame and is staying lit throughout the cycle of the fridge, then you probably have a bad cooling unit. Does is cool ok on Electric? If so, then there is another problem. You may have rust build up in the flue that is not allowing the heat from the gas to work correctly. Try taking a screwdriver and small claw hammer. Remove the cover from the burner assembly and place the head of the screwdriver on the flue just above the burner. Tap the screwdriver lightly with the hammer and see if rust falls. If so, continue to do this until it stops. You then need to blow out the burner and try the fridge again.
