I am trying to set up internet and VoIP connection. I have a NetComm NB6 acting as the router, and a Lynksys WRP400 as the wireless - for the internet connection all works OK. However I have locked myself out of the voice tab (can't get back in despite doing a full resedt). The ip provider has given me the sip address and told me which port to open - but I'm not sure how. Can you help?

Re: Can't access voice tab on WRP400
If your wireless VoIP router was provided by your VoIP provider they will usually lock this option on the router since they have pre-configured the voice settings(sip server, phone number, password, codecs) before they deliver the device to your location. if you have a working internet connection already you can give your VoIP proiver a call so that they can remotely check the voice settings on their end to verify if it's working or not.

1.Log into router. Using either 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 in a browser window that is ( internet Explorer or Firefox) 2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off) ( router status window) 3.Note router name you are connecting to. 4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses. 5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to access through a browser. 6.Note router name you are connecting to. 7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet. This is for all routers to set up wirelessly. 8. check for firmware update at the manufacturers site for your model router 9. cell phones, cordless phones, digital TV's, can affect the data signal from a router. Also distance from the router can be a factor. If your router is in a basement place the router to a upper floor and center it in the room.
From the laptop try pinging the router IP and then try to ping 220.127.116.11 or yahoo.com or google.com if you get replies the internet connection is fine and your router is connected to internet
As the issue is with 2 different devices it seems that issue is with router's internet connections, also connect the laptop with a cable and check the internet connection if that works fine issue is with the wireless security settings of the router
The user guide of your router is in the link below
To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router. To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: - 1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable. 2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address. 3. Enter the router setup, login and password 4. Change the admin password 5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast. 6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA). 7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router. 8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings. 9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router. 10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.
