Question about Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper pull only from the right side

When I try to print the printer pulls the paper only from the right side and not the left, so I get the "Paper Jam" message on the screen when the paper hasn't even totally left the tray yet. I'm wondering if this is because the paper may be to thin, but its been working fine for the past 2 months. I use Xerox Business Recycled Paper, 20 lb., 92 bright, 8.5x11 - 3R6296 paper. Any ideas?

Re: Paper pull only from the right side

Take a look as it is grabbing the paper
1- either there is someting blocking the path or
2- the tires need to be changed, not grabbing the paper but instead it is slipping.

Hpc6280 paper caught internally

This information comes from the User Manual on pages 111-112:

Internal paper jams on this machine tend to be in the two-sided printing accessory.

To clear a paper jam from the two-sided printing accessory:
1. Turn off the printer
2. Press in the tabs on the left and right side of the two-sided printing accessory, and remove it by pulling out from the center of the printer.
3. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. If the paper has torn, check the rollers and wheels for small, torn pieces of paper
4. If it's still not clear, open the two-sided printing accessory by pulling up on the tabs, and remove any paper stuck inside it, then close the accessory by pressing down on the tabs until they lock into place
5. Replace the two-sided printing accessory by pushing it forward until it snaps back into place
6. Turn on the printer, and verify that it works by pushing OK to continue the job it jammed on.

MP150 paper feed not working on left hand side

Check your paper feeding roller, first clean them

Every time I try to print something, the paper doesn't pull from the tray straight. It pulls to the left side and crumples the sheet of paper so that it can't feed through the printer.

You do not state the type of printer so it is difficult to give exact instructions, but I know what your problem is. Something is stuck in the paper path on the right hand side, hence the reason is skews to the left because the left side is able to advance and the right is hitting the obstacle. If your printer has a paper drawer, turn off the power, remove all cords and the cartridge. Pull out the paper drawer and then carefully stand the printer on it's back so that you can see where the paper goes as it comes out of the tray. You will likely find your problem right there. If you can repost with an actual model I can give you a much better idea of how to find a paper jam but these instructions should help you.

Printer pulls paper to right side jams does not print

usually this indicates some foreign object on the opposite side where the paper goes in. Please check to see if you have some small pieces of paper or something else in the paper path area.

also, another possibility is that your pickup roller is missing, dirty or damaged. try cleaning it too.

thanks adi

When I try to print only one side of the paper is pulled down

Probably you have a object which blocks paper from left side on feeder.Look carefully using flashlight in the feeder. If you don't see anything the printer must be disassembled.

How do I fix a paper jam? I've got paper jam around the exit roller and I can't get it out?

There should be a way to unlock one of the sides. Try taking out the toner cartridge and going in that way. If you can see the paper, get a pair of needle nose pliers and SLOWLY see if you can pull the paper out.

Paper wont feed propaly

It sounds like the motor on the left side went out. If it's a brand new printer your best bet would probably be exchange it at the store or see if the manufaturer has a warrenty. If it's an older printer I probably wouldn't try to get it repaired, printers are getting cheaper these days and it probably wouldn't be much more to get a new one.

Hi, please check if there is a paper jam or any obstruction inside that printer. Check also the platen lever or the left edge guide, make sure that paper is loaded correctly. Try printing again. If issue still present. Your printer needs to be send to service center.
