Samsung DLP rear projection HL-R4667W Green Screen of Death!!

My parents' Samsung DLP rear projection TV HL-R4667W is about 2.5 years old and has video problems. The TV Guide menu screen, Setup menu screen and audio are perfect. The video from the Air antenna and all RCA inputs (DVD, VCR, AV3) are projected as a kermit green screen, green with vertical stripes, black screen, occassional flickers of source video, blue screen, blue vertical stripes and rarely magenta screen, green/blue vertical striped screen. Does anybody know what component or circuit failed? Thank you!

I have the same problem with a HL-R4667W.  Green stripes with any NTSC video or antenna input.  Also, if I leave it in antenna (or video in) mode the tv shuts off and restarts about every 15 seconds.

However, it works perfectly with the RGB (Pc) input in all resolutions.  So it's appearently related to the the RF and / or video processing and not the display engine.  I'm just getting into this so if any one knows if that is a seperate pcb or if it's all on one big board it would be helpful.

SOURCE: TV HAS GREEN HORZONITAL STRIPES

Check if this happens in analog inputs ( connect a DVD player or any other component uing RCA cables white, yellow, red ) then check if the bars are showing on digital unputs ( connect using HDMI cable )

if it is just an analog problem - replace analog board
if it is just a digital problem - replace digital board
if it is a problem with both -replace DMD board

SOURCE: i have a red stripe across the top off my tv

This issue is because of a defect in the light engine. The only way to solve is to replace the whole light engine. They usually run anywhere from $500-$2500 depending on the model. Sony extended the warranties for the light engine on certain models that have this problem because of the defect, contact Sony to see if a certain TV had the warranty extended.

Check if it has a scrambled image on all sources ie - DVD- VCR - cable/satellite box. Since the PIP is normal it sounds like the signal source is bad.

Replaced the color wheel on a Samsung DLP

Did you replace the color wheel yourself ? Sometimes you have to remove a small black jumper on the DM module on the light engine and that will remove the greenish but sometimes adjustments also need to be made in the service menu.

Samsung dlp projection tv-when turned on green horizontal lines show up acroos the screen

that is what was happening with mine.  Tech came out and we are not waiting for a new DMB board.  Glad it's under the extended warranty we bought in 2005 (which runs out next month) or it would have cost $500.00 parts and labor.

needs a DM Board, prity easy to change yourself, if you order one, make sure you give them the version number off the Right side of the TV, will be somthing like SP01, To change - when you take the back off the tv, it will be on the left hand side, have to unplug 3 or 4 connectors, then take the plastic covering off, and it will slide out.
