Re: Pink horizontal stripes on my monitor

If youve tried pressing the degaus button on the monitor and the same result then either your graphics driver is corrupt and needs to be updated from the manufacturer web site or the monitor is on it's way out. Try a friends monitor on your system or your monitor on a friends, if it's the same on a friends ststem, it's a belated Xmas present for yourself.

A small pink stripe down the left side of my HP laptop display screen. What's up??

It probably means that you're very lucky that your screen is failing and probably NOT the Video Card on *********** board. Either borrow a monitor and hook it to your computer (and see if the line appears on the borrowed monitor...if not, you know your monitor is failing) or take your computer to a friend's place and hook it to his/her monitor which will produce the same troubleshooting answer with the reversed conponents, if the line appears on his otherwise normal LCD, your video card is the problem.

Best Regards,

2" pink stripe

It sounds like it is either the video cable or the video causing this if it is happening on more than one monitor. I would replace the video cable first and test. If it is still doing it you can install the video card in a second computer to test it. Or just replace it.

Optiquest monitor screen turned bright pink. How to solve this issue?

First check your cord from the computer to the monitor to make sure the connections are clean and good on the blue vga cord. Plugging it in and out a few times will help clean the pins and holes.
If that is ok: then it may be bulbs.
Pink means that you have bad bulbs inside the screen. sometimes the pink goes away when the bulbs warm up. eventually it won't stay on.
There is a slight chance the power board is also getting weak. You would have to open it up to tell this.
Once partially opened, Disconnect the wide set of wire that goes from the back of the screen to the monitors main video board and then try to turn it on, If it is still bulbs they will really show up with this setup.
If you send me a picture of the power board to, I may be able to tell if the board has issues by looking at the picture of it.

Screen goes pink and green starting with a few pixels

Best thing to do, try a different known working monitor to hook up to the computer. If the screen works and doesn't change colors then you know its the original monitor that is bad.

If you hook up the known working monitor and the same problem happens then you know its the video card that is bad and the video card would have to be replaced.

The screen is pink tinted

A pink (or any tinted) screen is usually an indicator of one of two things:
1. The cable going from the video card to the monitor is loose. Try adjusting the cable and see if the picture changes. Put pressure in all directions slowly to see if it clears up. If it does, you should change your monitor cable.
2. One or more of your CRT "guns" or "rays" is malfunctioning, causing the red gun to be too strong, or causing the green or blue to be too weak. This is difficult to fix... time for a new monitor. Sometimes you can get a little more life out if by smacking the monitor on the side.

This issue could be either the Monitor inverter failing or it could be your Video card. If you have another computer available, plug the monitor into a different computer and see if you get the same behavior, if you do, then the monitor is failing and needs to be replaced. If on a different computer it works fine, then you may have a video card failing. Does it seem to happen the longer the monitor is on? Could be as it heats up, it starts to fail.
