The problem is that when the pc is in idle state for a length of time the computer goes to sleep, if you try to wake it up using the keyboard nothing will happen, you have to wake the system up using the on/off button, to prevent this happening again you have to change when the computer sleeps, if you use vista do this> go into "control panel" and then into "power options", then on the left hand side you will see "change when the compurt sleeps" and choose "never" for all four options, save settings and exit the window. After doing this the computer won't go back into a sleep state.
As for the F8 issue, i could do with some more information please

hope this helps

re-installing the operating system is a "last resort" and should only be performed if the existing operating system is degraded or corrupt, the problem you have is hardware and if you did re-install the problem may not go away and if keys are damaged or don't work you could be left with a useless laptop

Im having toshiba satellite s6959 laptop its touchpad scroll is not working i checked for driver in toshiba website but i cant find it out

Click Here for all drivers available for the 5100U direct from BenQ Main Website.

It is the 9th one listed, Synaptics Touchpad.

I reccommend downloading all the drivers listed, and burn them to a cd for future needs.

Good Luck

You can change the wireless security (key) from WEP to WPA from the Router only.

Touch pad scrolling not working

Try looking for an icon on your numbered function keys (F keys) (mine is on F6 on Benq S52) that activates a touchpad on/off when you hit the key while pressing the Fn key (it's likely near the Ctrl and Alt keys).

Can't start up the laptop as Media test failure

If you can access the motherboard look for 'JBAT1' and if located put jumper on pins 2-3 then back to 1-2, although i'm not 100% sure if your notebook board is similair to that of an ATX board. If you are able this will delete any saved bios entries of HDD etc.
