Question about RIM BlackBerry 7100G Smartphone

1 Answer

I cannot use my cell phone inside my house

The reception is horrible inside my house. Either I cant hear them or they cant hear me. As soon as I step out on to the porch its fine. I really dont want to sit on the porch to talk all the time. I have AT&T service and so does my husband and daughter and we all have this problem and my daughter has a different phone than me and my husband.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Toni

Check for interference from household appliances
check the material used in the house cladding as it may be blocking the signal
indicates an environment problem in the house as different phone makes are in use and the only common factor is the service provider
you may have to pay to get a technician in to the house to measure the signal strength from the cell tower inside your house
if you have any electronic vermin plug in units in the house try switching them off as they work at a frequency that may be affecting the performance inside the house

SOURCE: slight water damage

Don't have a soulution if you don't want to go to the provider. Enless the dot that is on the back behide your battery isn't red then you don't have water damage some things just happen. If it isn't i would take it in seeming you just got it.

My service has worked fine for months and i had been using the 50 dollar a month unlimited prepaid plan. 2 weeks ago i changed my plan to the prepaid 30 a month 1500min/text plan instead to save a bit of...

Did you change phones? Sim cards? I am assuming you have the same phone, and they switched out the sim card (or maybe not?) when you changed plans.

Also, all 4G phones are also 3G and 2G phones, and they simply pick the best available. So if you lose 4G coverage, it will simply switch to the wider 3g network and when you're really remote, drop to 2G. This effects data speed primarily, there isn't any qualitative difference between them for voice and text.

It sounds like you might have something screwy with your sim card when the plan changed happened, I would call T-Mobile or visit a store and ask for a new sim card and be vocal about the poor reception after the plan change. Changing plans shouldn't normally effect reception, only changing phones/networks.

I myself experienced reception issues like yours, and the problem was a bad simcard. I'm sorry for the vague answers, but I think your best bet is to go to a T-Mobile store. They should replace the sim card free of charge.

No reception in our house

the reception quality around your house has dropped, probably because of new high rise buildings in the area or trees interfering with the reception. Best option buy a network booster to improve your reception quality.
