You need unbuffered, Non ECC DDR2700 or DDR3200 modules. You can install single modules. You do not have to install pairs. The maximum RAM for your system is 2GB.

I would suggest sticking with one of the major brands...Kingston, Crucial, PNY.

Hello. Your motherboard supports DDR PC 2700 memory. You can put 1 GB in each slot for a maximum of 2 GB. I would recommend buying a 1 GB chip. Chances are it will work along with the 256 chip already in your computer, but sometimes that can cause a conflict. Either way, you'll have 1 GB and you can upgrade to 2 GB in the future if you'd like. Here is my recommendation.

If you buy two of them, you can upgrade to 2 GB.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

I have intel 101 Ggc Mother board and intel pentium D processor , i was using 756MB ram (512+ 256MB) RAM. But after i brought 1 GB ram and Used it instead of 256 MB Ram the system started restarting...

There is a chance that you have faulty RAM module. If computer is stable on POST (until Windows boot-up) I would suggest to use some testing tools to test that RAM with your motherboard. There is a good program called MemTest. You can find it online if you search Hirens Boot CD. Download it, burn image to disk, put 1GB RAM into motherboard, start-up PC and boot from CD. Then you'll search for Memtest program. I would suggest to leave PC for at least 6 hours for testing to find out if it's faulty or not (better to leave for 24 hours).

Replacing memory on the P4M800-M7 A motherboard

No. Just make sure that you two RAM modules have the same specifications (speed, clock).
If you don't know about that, then simply insert both RAM modules and start your computer. If Windows loads, then right click on MyComputer and go to properties. If it shows 1.5GB then you are OK.
If the computer fails to start or you hear multiple beeps it means that they are incompatible.
Replace the 512 module and insert the new one and try again.
Always remember to turn off the power and unplug the cable from the power supply before replacing RAM modules.

Hi I also have a P4m800-M7 rev 3.1 motherboard and a 512mb of ram.. my question is, is it okay to put another ram but in 1gb size its pc3200, will it work? thanks!!

Hi,

The motherboard supports 2GB maximum memory. 1x1GB in each slot.

Maximum clock speed is 400MHz (PC3200), so the memory module you have should work fine.

Please remember to remove the power cord before installing the new ram.

Regards.

Mi Mainboard no reconoce 2 memorias a la vez

Your Motherboard has a built in Video display unit. This display is using 64MB of the RAM you would be using for other stuff. If you want the rest of the memory to be released you will have to purchase an Off-Board Video card that is AGP and then enter the BIOS screen on startup and disable the on-board video card and the memory (there may be a jumper on the MB to disable the on-board Video). I hope you can find someone to translate this for you.

I have problem about ram

If the manual says this motherboard support up to 1 GB RAM, you cannot put 2 GB. You can put 2x 512 GB RAM or 1GB RAM
Also try to upgrade your bios, maybe a better bios version supports more than 1 GB RAM.

I have installed 1 GB + 512 MB DDR II RAM, but it read only 1G I have just bought the Corsair 1GB RAM (DDR II 667 MHz, 6400), and installed it in the slot 1 of my motherboard, but it only read as 512 MB. (...

Nowadays, motherboards supports only a selected number of RAMs. You have to read the manual and select from the given models. I am not talking about DDR2 or 667MHz. The manual will state the manufacturer (ex. Kingston) model no (KVR667XXXXXX) etc. Only those stated in the manual will work correctly with your motherboard.

Stops booting

Did you remove the components that you upgraded, and try adding them back one by one?

Will it give you a POST screen?

Does it Beep at boot time? If it is noisy try moving it to another room.

Describe the original components and then the ones that you upgraded in detail. This will allow us to better troubleshoot the problem.
