Re: Loss of ethernet card after reset

The duck, Before you proceed you need to know the static IP, Subnet Mask and Gateway address for this printer. Once you have them: -Enter the menu mode by pressing the + button -Press the + button till you come to the Network Menu. -Press the Enter button. You should now see TCP/IP. Make sure it says Enabled which is the default setting. -Press the + button till you come to IP address then press the Enter button. - IP addresses (for now) consist of four octets or four groupings of three numbers such as in this example **. Using the + or - buttons (+ counts up 0,1,2,3?.; - counts down 255,254,253?..) you are going to set the number of the first octet or in the case of the example *192*. Once you?ve set it correctly hit the Enter button. -Do the same for the other three octets. Hitting the Enter button after setting the fourth octet will set the new IP and take you back to the TCP/IP menu. - Press the + button till you see Subnet Mask and press the enter button. - Just like the IP address the Subnet Mast consists of four octets. Set the value to you needs just as you did with the IP address. Again when you hit the enter button after setting the fourth octet you will be taken back to the TCP/IP menu. - Again press the + button till you come to Gateway Address and hit enter. Enter the Gateway IP address exactly like you did when setting the IP address. Don?t forget to hit the enter button to set the address. You should now be at the TCP/IP menu again. -To exit the menu press the On-line button on the printer. Your printer should now be configured with you IP address, subnet mask and gateway address. As an added check I would go back into the menu by pressing the + button, going into the Information Menu and printing selecting the Print Menu Map option. Verify the setting we just made with what is printed out at the top of the page. If everything matches you?re ready to go! Let us know how it goes and please don?t forget to rate this posting.

How to reset c2557

Might want to have the developer replaced and drum/cleaning blade normally done all together, then run the TCR procedure/Developer Charge, and make sure the counters where cleared. Did you recently replace the drum and the developer if so did you clear the counters for the drum and developer, FIRST? IF not then the copier thinks the new drum and new developer are old. The copier works on the counters that is how it knows it got a new drum and developer. Get new developer and a new drum and have it installed correctly. Ensure Drum Dry is run first, Counters are clear before the unit is yanked out of the machine, then you remove the image unit/drum unit replace the developer/drum and cleaning blade. (DO NOT USE A VACUUM CLEANER WHEN REPLACING THE DEVELOPER static electricity can destroy the sensor located below the developer unit. Then reinstall and RUN TCR Developer Charge. Make sure the fax line and Ethernet cable is removed can't print anything until the TCR is run. Or you will start all over again with new developer and a new drum.

Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement. Contact your dealer...... epson stylus c40ux both lights are flashing ... won't print

A service error where you get a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is to replace the waste ink pad/pads with a new one/ones and then reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter. If you just reset the counter and don't replace the pads, then your printers old pads will eventually overflow and normally start leaking ink out the bottom of your printer. You can see exploded parts diagrams for most epson ink jet printers and can also check on possible parts ordering, by Compass Micro Inc, at . Some people actually wash the ink out of the old pads, by holding them under running cold water. Then they simply dry them out and reinstall them back into their printer. The choice on what to actually do, is yours to make. I would at least recommend getting that waste ink counter reset procedure and performing it first, to make sure your printer will then work. There is an "Epson Stylus C60 Printer Information Page", that also includes the C40 & C42 series, that you can view at . It does have a section on the left side you can click-on, titled WASTE INK PAD SERVICING and also a section titled HOUSING REMOVAL, that will be of some help to you, if you want to try the needed servicing. However, you will still need to actually reset that Internal Waste Ink Counter, to clear the actual service error condition. You may be able to reset that waste ink counter, using the SSC SERVICE UTILITY available at . Unfortunatly, that utility only works using a windows operating system. You can check and see if your particular epson printer is compatible, by going to ...Here's some previously posted info that may also help. To reset the error download this utility: . Once installed run the program and configure it, closing the main window and right clicking the icon in the tray area, from there choose Configure and select your printers model. After configuration, select Protection counter -> Reset protection counter, it should be able to clear the error message. If that does not actually work, then the only suggestion I can give is to perform a soft-reset before resetting counter. Remove also the Epson status agent, it detects errors and it may hinder communication with the printer, then reboot your pc. As profile choose the one sscservice didn't use after autoconfiguration, check for printer response. Remember that you should also clean the waste ink pads located at the printer bottom. For a more in-depth procedure go to his site at "....Unfortunately, that ssc service utility may not actually work on all epson printers and not on all operating systems, so you will have to check it out for yourself. Just in case that source does not work: You may then need to go on-line to try and locate the actual reset procedure, to buy and download to actually reset that waste ink counter
