Ac outside unit comes on...inside blower starts up and blows for about 2 mins, then blower shuts off. outside unit continues to run until we manually turn it off at the thermostat. after it sits for a few mins (15) or so you can set it back to start and everything comes on like it is supposed to and 2 mins later the same problem occurs, the inside blower shuts down, the thermostat lite is still on calling for cooling and the compressor is still running. Any ideas? Thanks We are right now getting ready to manually feel how hot the moter is when it shuts off in case it is the thermal limit that is shutting it down.
I had the same problem,if you do not monitor that you will make matters worst and burn the Compressor.your problem is the blower unit it has three speed sometimes four.it needs to be changed..
This is probably too late but you probably have a bad run capacitor or bad furnace blower motor. If you follow the 2 brown wires leading from the motor to a small silver component with 2 spade electrical connectors on top, it can generally be removed and taken to a nearby motor repair shop to be tested and replaced. If the capacitor is good, you'll need a new motor. Make sure you turn power off at the breaker and don't trust the furnace switch.

Before you do anything check your overflo emergency switch!
Drain is stopped up causing switch to cut condenser off

You have a voltage bleed somewhere or a short, whatever you want to call it. Do you have a control board on this unit where the relays are integrated into it or do you have the old type where the relay is separate? Anyway, you need to take a meter and take voltage readings to the motor when it's acting up and when it's running right. I have had the same problem with a Goodman unit before and it turned out to be the tstat! What I would do is remove the cover off the tstat and take a small jumper wire and touch the r terminal to the y terminal. If the motor starts right up, you know it's the tstat. If you have the same problem, then the only thing it can be is a low voltage short to the unit from the tstat, bad control board if you have one, or a bad relay. But if the unit is working fine in heat, it's probably not the relay. I hope this helps.

be aware that not repairing this asap that you are causing yourself more problems First I would change out the fan capacitor and see if this could be the problem. Secondly if the capacitor isn,t the problem change out the motor . By continuing to allow the system to cycle like this the compressor will take a dive on you costing more . Good Luck

Testimonial: "Yes, it's dual run capacitor problem. I used a stick to spin the fan blades and it starts to slowly spin and up to normal speed, so motor is good."
