Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I just a few days ago had a power surge in my home, The first surge did not affect my 52 in RCA model #R56wh76, I think. The second power surge came in about 1 & 1/2 later, and I just heard several popping sound coming from my TV and lots of smoke. I quickly unplugged the tv from the wall. Before the 2nd surge the tv was workin ok. The cable box was not working( It got fried) my house amp from my cable company also got fried. Strange enough my DVD player did not. Thats how I found out that my tv did not get fried. I played several dvd just to check the tube out, and it worked perfectly.. Around 1&1/2 later I was on my cell phone contacting my cable company and explaining what happen and they were trying to correct the problem wit the cable box, when the 2nd surge happen and it was too late for me to unplugged the tv. Strange because it was plugged in to a surge protecter. My other electronic equipement that was also on the surge protector were not damaged, only my TV.
