With the washer disconnected, remove the top panel. then remove the front panel until you see the motor where the cord used to go out. You will probably have to do some soldring if the cord can't be reattached. check where the power supply comes from and start from there. you will need to remove the old piece of cord and resolder the other part by splicing the cord and removing a piece of the rubber insulation. And resolder back on power supply.

Y whirlpool cabrio washer is showing code 5D how do I fix

SD is Sud lock, too much soap, or clogged drain pump. Also check the pressure tube, make sure no gunk is in it. If none of that works, then replace the main control board.

Clothes have lint on them when the washing cycle is finished is there a lint area i need to clean

The newer Whirlpool top-loaders have lint screens on the inner tub and not accessible. These are supposed to self-clean during the drain cycle. I've heard that liquid fabric softener and detergent build-up may clog the screens when lint sticks to the gooey screens. Try something that will cut the goo like vinegar or ammonia in a small load level without clothes. Without clothes in the washer, that is.

Older Whirlpool washers have lint filters located above the tub, on the lid opening.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

My Kenmore Calypso washing machine has is

Where the power cord goes into the washer is a small box called a line filter. It is there to protect the electronics in the control. It might be that the line voltage filter has failed. Remove the rear panel on the control to access it. Calypso Service Manual

How to replace lid switch assembly #3949247 for a Whirlpool Washe

we just bypass them, unless your going to stick your hand in there during spin cycle,-unplug washer, remove the 2 head screws 1 on each side of the head, flip the head up,you will see the lid switch jack in the middle of the top of washer, unplug it,cut the 2 outside wires and wire nut them together, plug back in,put the head back, plug in washer and your done, this way it cost you nothing to fix,the other way would be around $40,let me know how you do-mike

I have search for this and found:

This error code indicates that the door is not locking.
Is the washer door firmly shut?
The door must be completely closed for the washer to operate. The door may look as if it's closed, but it may not be latched. Open the door and firmly close it.
Were you washing a large load?
Before you close the washer door, check for laundry items sticking out beyond the door opening. Leave enough space in the washer to allow the clothes to freely tumble. Reduce your load size if needed.

Washer does not spin

Hi, There are several causes for this problem. Check these.

  • No spin at all: the lid switch is fried. You test it with your meter.                                  There will be a motor which spins the washing machine's drum.                                              If you don't hear the motor running, then its the lid switch which would have been broken and needs replacing. A bad lid switch wil interrupt the spin cycle.

  • In the Whirlpool washers, a common problem is that the lid plunger stops making contact with the lid switch. Use a pen to manually press the lid switch actuator (with the lid up, duh). If the washer spins...well, you know the rest.

  • Older (belt-drive) Whirlpool: the spin solenoid is burned out or has cut wires. Ohm out that solenoid (20-30 ohms) and test with a test cord. Make sure the wires are intact by giving them a little tug. If this is OK, you may need to adjust/replace the basket drive.

  • Timer is fried. On older timers, it's sometimes possible to run an external jumper to replace the bad internal contacts. Usually, however, the entire timer must be replaced. The only way to confirm is to use your meter and wiring diagram.

These are the causes that have to be inspected. You can also visit this site www.whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp

Hope my info solves your problem, Thanx for using fixya, Good luck.

How to fix my 4 cycle whirlpool washer, it won't spin. we checked the belts but they were all there.

HELLO.FIRSTLY YOU NEED TO CHECK THAT THE PUMP IS DRAINING ALL THE WATER OUT AS LEFT OVER WATER WILL NOT ALLOW THE PRESSURE METER TO SEND INFO TO THE TIMER TO SPIN.YOU MIGHT ALSO NEED TO CHECK THE SPIN WINDINGS ON THE MOTOR TO SEE IF THEY ARE NOT BURNT.IF ALL THE ABOVE IS WORKING OK YOUR PROBLEM IS WITH YOUR TIMER.GOODLUCK.MOHAMED
