Question about Garmin GPSMAP 60C GPS Receiver
I can't acces any pages on my GPS because the buttons are not working anymore. I have rebooted with updated softwares, but when I'm on the acquiring sattelite page, no buttons (even the power & light) doesnt work. Anyone can help... Thank you.
How are previous versions aquired if not from Garmin's site? Are they available from a third party site and if so I do I acquire them?

SOURCE: GARMIN DOESNT PICK UP SATELLITES
You have a problem with your internal antenna. You can easly reslove this by hooking up an external antenna, and watch it go from 20 to two mins.

Have you tried a Master Reset? It may help, but it WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR FAVORITES. To do a Master Reset, turn the unit off. Press and hold the bottom right of the screen, then press and release the power button. Keep pressing the screen until the unit asks if you are sure you want to reset. Follow the prompts.

The "New Location" fix above brought my GPS 60 back to full operation. I did reload the GPS software from Garmin but the recovery depended on well charged batteries and as above: turn the unit on
press MENU button
scroll to "New Location"
wait 10 minutes for the GPS to recover.

SOURCE: cannot find my map data anymore
Have you checked the wrench menu, map info, the preinstalled map should have a check mark, if not tap on the check box, it should now show a detailed map screen when you go back to the main menu and select show map.

So what happens when you connect it to the PC?
Make sure no sd cards are installed while you do this.
download and install web updater, run it it gets to a screen where it looks for the gps, plug the usb cable into the GPS (no USB hubs please!!!) Make sure it detects the GPS before you continue. Select the updates you need (don't install all the languages !!) after this is done the program will report the downloads are on the garmin, unplug the unit and it will reboot and whilst rebooting it will install the updates....so don't touch it until it reboots again and displays the regular screen....and make sure the batery is fully charged before you do this...!
