Is the disk drive behind a flap that covers it (this will be flap that has hinges at the bottom not a eject tray)? if so it is too close and is pressing on the eject button so you will have to take the side panel off and adjust it

regards

I put a disc in the drive and it stayed in the computer when the disc drive was opened

I am assuming that when the disc drive tray came out, the holder was empty, and you had placed the disc in the holder prior to this. Did you use the disc? Did it operate properly? Has your PC been tilted for any reason before trying to remove the disc? My feeling is the disc has to be SOMEWHERE! Take a flashlight and take a peak in the opened drive. Can you see the disc anywhere? Perhaps tweezers can be used with scotch tape wrapped around the points to keep it from scratching the disc. Grasp the edge of the disc and pull it out, if possible. If you can't find the disc, you should open the case and do a search. You might need to remove the drive itself, but hopefully you will get the disc back without needing to go to that step.

Good luck!

How to open driver door

Do you mean the disc drive tray won't open? Or do you mean you have a front panel cover on your computer that won't open? If the disc drive tray won't open it could just be stuck, if you look closely at your disc drives front panel you'll see a small hole, take a paper clip our some thing about 3 inches long that will fit in the hole insert it into the hole you'll feel it bottom out if you push on the paper clip firmly your disc drive door will open, ( I would do this with the computer turned off) If there's a disc in there take it out if not just push the try back closed don't force it completely closed it will do that itself, now turn on your computer let it completely finish booting and see if it the drive works. If it does not it's probably time for a new disc drive. I hope this helps

I have just started using cyberlink products here is my problem. I have used the copy to disc and it copies and all, but when I get ready to play it on my DVD it comes across as unknown disc, not playing...

This could be because the session on the disc is not closed. Computers and many of today’s recorders as well, allows you to keep the session open on a disc in order to be able to continue adding more information on CD-R or DVD-R discs, but leaving it open doesn’t allow you to play it on just any other player.
Insert the DVD into your computer then right click the drive and select "Close Session" ( if the option is available, then test it again.

DVD tray automatically opens and closes

Is the drive reading disc properly? if no then just change the drive.

If it can read disc then

1) Do an msconfig & disable startup - just to make sure that there are no pesky script or applcation doing it.

2) change the SATA port on motherboard or toogle between master & slave if IDE cable is been used.

Still if its not working then just change the drive.

Door ejecting

If you have a decorative bezel or door over your drives, that may be the problem. Sometimes the door presses on the drive release switch. Decorative bezels, meanwhile, have a spring-loaded extension button that goes through the extra case material to press the drive's actual release mechanism. I've seen a faulty spring on this type of arm cause a drive tray to go in and out at random, come out part-way and go back in, etc. — all without anyone touching the button itself. The effect is almost as if the drive is possessed. Kind of spooky when it happens, but fixing it is usually a simple matter of adjusting the spring or just removing the bezel completely (since it's only decorative). Alternatively, you may have a trojan on your machine that either fools with the drive automatically, or gives remote access to the drive so that someone else can toy with your machine over your network connection. "OfficePoltergeist" is a program that pranksters love to use to do this. NetBUS is another example of a remote tool from many years ago that could play with your CDROM trays. Your antivirus or spyware scans should be able to detect this, though... It is possible you have a new trojan of this sort that is not yet detected by antivirus software...

COMPACT DISC,RECORDABLE DOOR KEEP POP UP BY ITS SELF.PLS HELP ME TO CLOSED IT SO THE DOOR DOESN'T POP UP BY ITSELF

you may need to replace your cd-rom drive, you can try buying a new cd-rom drive for around 30-40$ which also will mean you'll have a DVD-rom instead of cd-rom.

thanks
