Question about Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clear View Upright Steam Vacuum

Bissell Pump Weak?

Seems like you're the expert here on these, so I figured I'd ask directly. I went to use my Bissell today and the flow indicator wasn't working, so I immediately figured "heater" (as I've had to clean it up before). Well I took the heater completely apart and cleaned up the insides, but it still didn't solve the issue. Obviously the belt is good, and as best as I can tell, the water and shampoo tanks are fine, with all rubber gaskets where they should be. All the lines are clean and routed properly, and I can even get the unit to **** water out of a glass from the water tank hose, but as soon as I put the cover back on (I've done this 20 times today) and drop the tanks in, I get nothing. As such, the ONLY two things I can even think of at this point is the shampoo selector piston is causing issues (even though it seems to be installed properly) or the pump is working but weak, and when vacuum is placed on the tank itself there's just not enough vacuum from the pump to still pull water. It will spray for a moment or two if I shut the unit off and allow the pump to prime (although there are obvious air bubbles in the line), and will even **** water poured into the water tank adapter fitting... but nothing from either of the tanks themselves. Bad pump?

Often times I see the pumps clogged with soap when acting like you described. This can cause a pump to be weak. Pressure builds up whe you stop squirting water but tapers off quickly. A few times I've been able to get water flowing good but most times have to replace the pump.

SOURCE: bissell shampoo

I am assuming this had a flat and a cogged belt, if not then provide the model number.

First take off the cover on the left side oif the top cover, then turn it over, remove the screw holding the red lock and pull the cap and brush roll out, remove the cap, remove the cogged belt, then you can put the new pump belt thru that slot, put over the pulley on the pump and then stretch it to go over the motor shaft. Then put back together.

SOURCE: Bissell 1698 Powersteamer no spray

A simple thing to check is make sure the round seal is on the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank not sitting loose in then hole that the tank valve goes into. Could be a problem with the flow indictor cap leaking air. Is the top and the base tight together in the back, sometimes the plastic breaks loose and the top will rise enough that it raises the tank so water won't flow. Your pump may be bad.

SOURCE: Bissell steam cleaner will not spray shampoo

My Bissell stops releasing shampoo when the handle is lacked upright, when there is no water in the tank (the most common cause of this issue), or when water is not flowing through the machine because the sprayers are clogged.

Make sure the shampoo container grommet is releasing properly when you press the trigger. To check this, remove the shampoo tank from the Bissell, stand over a sink, and use a finger to push up inside the grommet on the shampoo container, the part of it that mates with the rest of the Bissell. Shampoo should dribble out when you do this. If it won't, the grommet may be clogged.

Is there a filter to bissell pro heat pet ? PUMP

Check your User's Guide on page 13 for Maintenance and Care. There is a flow filter located under the flow indicator that should be cleaned after each use. To get to it you turn the Flow indicator cap counter-clock wise, lift the rotor out and the then the filter. Ensure you replace the filter with the stem in the up position. Reassemble in reverse.

0n a Bissell project carpet cleaner what do I do if water and solution won't come out show picture of what to look for

Unscrew the Flow Indicator Cap. Take out the rotor and the filter underneath it. Clean the filter. Second remove the filter on the water tank lid. If the lid is clear the filter will possibly be a bright color. It looks like a screen. Clean it. If that doesn't work call Consomer Care at 1-800-237-7691 There are pictures and directions in your Customer User's Guide.

8910-4 bissell proheat pet doesnt want to suck up water

First thing is to check the filters. There's a lint filter on the heater tank cap. Just remove it, clean it and put it back. Then there's a filter under the Flow Indicator: turn the flow indicator counter-clockwise and remove it. Lift the rotor and filter out. Clean the rotor and reinstall them. Screw the Flow Indicator cap back on. If that doesn't work, then you may have something stuck in draw up tube. At that point I'd call the Bissell Consumer Care people at 1-800-237-7691 Hope that Helped.

Water will not dispense

I'd clean the small filters. One under the Flow Indicator: Unscrew the Flow Indicator cap to remove it. Lift out the rotor and the filter is directly under it. Lift the filter out and clean. Replace in the reverse order. If that didn't work then call Consumer Care 1-800-237-7691. Hope that Helped.

After replacing pump water comes out in short squirts. It seems to come out of pump in steady stream but short squirts at nozzles including hand held.

Check your filters. Flow Indicator Filter: Turn Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise to remove, lift rotor and filter out. Clean filter and replace in reverse order.

I was vacuuming with bissell 3750-T and I shut it off and went to turn it back on and will not start or do anything, what is wrong?

If you can't smell burning then it's probably a broken power switch or the vacuum got too hot and the thermal overload protection has tripped. Try leaving it off for 15-30 minutes and try it again. The thermal overload will reset itself during this time and it should work again.

In the meantime, make sure you have power to the vacuum, check for any blockages and check that the rollers in the cleaning head will turn by hand. Also, give your filters a clean. Any of these could cause the vacuum to overheat.

If you've already done this and/or power doesn't return after 15-30 minutes, I would start by checking the switch.

A couple of questions . . .

1. Does the power switch feel "normal" - basically does it have a positive feel when you switch on and off?
2. How long had you been using the vacuum before it stopped working?
