Question about Hitachi FDX Series 43FDX10B 43" Rear Projection Television
The TV shows a red shadow - the convergence button allows you to alien the colors however the red will not move enough to alien. I had seen one solution that suggested the convergence board needed replacing. I could do that if I could identify it. The same solution suggested replacing the (2) ICs (what ever they are). If I had the part numbers and ordered them - would I be able to recognize them on the TV to replace?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: Color convergence problem
My blue gun was out of alignment. I was receiving an error code 4 during magic tune. I ordered the service manual from manualscenter.com. The service adjustment/ trouble shooting guide section is awesome. The problem ended up being a bad resistor (RK54). Mr. "Guest", RK 50 is a 1.5 Ohm 1W resistor. I wouldn't attempt this repair unless you can read schematics and are familiar with high voltage components. A HV capacitor is right next to the convergence board. Good luck.

Did you check the resitors out of circuit? As its very rare when a Hitachi doesnt open at least two on the affected circuit. If you checked the resistors in circuit an open resitor will read good even though its actually open.

Unplug TV from ac outlet for few hours, this will discharge caps in circuit boards and you can take out desired board after unplugging connectors.
Always Be Careful while doing repair in TV.

Try resoldering the pins on the ICs first. If that fails to resolve the problem, change the IC responsible for RED. You should be able to determine that from the service manual. In that area you should also see either fuses or low valued resistors that feed the STKs. Check those as well.
Let me know if you need further info.
