In order to scan 35mm slides to your computer, you need a scanner that has the capability of doing this. These scanners will either come with a 35mm adapter that will allow you to scan the slides, or there are scanners that will scan only 35mm slides. A good recommendation is either this or this.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

How to scan negatives?

You will need to check your Canon software that came with your Pixma MX310. I have a stand alone Canon Canoscan 8800F scanner that have the capability to scan 35mm film strip and 35mm mounted slide, the software included the feature for it.

Does the HP photosmart 2710 scan negative ansd 35mm slides?

This multi function printer/scanner cannot scan 35mm slides and negatives.
Some flat bed scanners with a lighr scource that shines through 35 mm slides and negatives can scan them.
You will be better off getting a dedicated 35 mm slide/negative scanner.
Check out this WEB site foe slide scanners.

Is it possible to scan 35mm photo slides on Epson CX5000 all-in-one?

No - slides need to be lit from the backside, which requires a 2nd lamp. They also need to be held securey. If a scanner supports slides, they will say it in the features list, and there will be a slot in the lid of the scanner that will allow you to slide several slides into a slot, which will have a good neutral-white lamp behind it

Scanning of negatives and slides to a computer -Is it possible

Please follow the instructions below to use the Scan and Save option in Smart Panel

1. Open Smart Panel and double-click Scan and Save

2. The scanner normally defaults to AUTOMATIC MODE and will scan without any intervention. Should you wish to use PROFESSIONAL MODE or HOME MODE, simply click on PAUSE and the MODE you wish to use.

3. After the scan completes, you will be taken to the VIEW IMAGES screen. Should you wish to change the file name, click on IMAGEXXXX( X representing the number) and enter the file name of your choice. Click NEXT

4. In the SAVE FILE screen, select your FILE PATH and FILE TYPE. After making the adjustments you wish, click on SAVE.

Cant scan 4cm x 4xm slides

The mounted slide scanning option is set for scanning 35mm mounted slides (24mm x 36mm). As far as I know there is no way to change this setting. You may want to try using the film scan option, do a preview scan, and then crop each individual slide for the final scan.

35mm scan not in focus

You need to uninstall and do a clean install of the drivers (software). If you do not have the CD you can download the driver here:

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=58773&infoType=Overview

Be sure that when you download a new driver and install it, that you turn off all running programs including your virus/security control. You can turn it right back on when the drivers are installed and you restart the computer. Good Luck.
