Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a new EEE PC 1000H and am finding that the mouse is not always responsive. Sometimes I need to move my finger around in circles to get the mouse to move, other times it appears frozen completely. Also, when viewing some pictures I transferred to the 1000H, it began to scroll up and down by itself.

Thanks for that aclamonte, but I haven't had the 1000H on line. I transferred the pictures from my home pc using a flash drive and the home pc is running fine.

wow. i sometimes experience that. but you can do something on it, even your 1000H not online, download a free Anti virus using your USB, but make sure that pc downloading, is a virus free also coz in most cases USB is the main transporter of Viruses. just play safe, or if your home is online, then connect it sometimes for your anti virus. coz when the virus will penetrate and they are now replacing your .dll program awww it will crush your os program.

    hope i can help

Looks like your mouse is causing the trouble. Try a different mouse if you have one lying around. Or to check, unplug the mouse when that starts to happen and check if the problem is resolved immediately. If it does, well, time to get a new mouse.

The mouse that came with it was not used until yesterday and it sometimes lights up but even when it does, it does not work the pointer.

If the mouse pointer works with a different mouse, then the problem is with the mouse that you are using now. You will need to get a new one if that's the case.

You might have a hunk of metal or something interfering with reception, so clear out any shileding bags and retry that way, your cellphone making you type in all caps?...unless there's a button on the PC to press to sync peripherals, you're doing it right.

Double-check your battery installation in case the impatience with which such situations come got things flipped for you, test the voltage too, then hit your sync buttons again and move the mouse around in circles until it syncs!

Mouse has slow response

Try adjusting the sensitivity in the windows control panel.
Start >> Control Panel >> Mouse (sometimes listed under Hardware and Sound) fool around with all the various settings in there until you find something that works well for you.
If this doesnt work you may want to try another mouse to see if it works better, the mouse could be defective.

How to ouse the mouse?

The mouse is used by people to navigate around the operating system like Windows.

There are a number of buttons on the mouse, Left Click, Right Click, Scroll Wheel and Wheel Click.

Your index finger operates the Left Click and you middle finger operates the Right Click and Scroll Wheel.

The mouse, when moved in turn moves whats known as a cursor on the screen, it's that arrow.

Think of the cursor as your pointing finger.

Hope that helps!

How-to move cursor ?

If there is a black square in the middle below the keybord, that is what is called a glidepoint. You just use your finger to glide the mouse arrow around inside of that box. The bars are for the mouse buttons.
If you are like me, I like to hook up a regular mouse via USB and use the regular mouse instead.

I hope that I have provided the correct information that will assist you in the resolution of this issue. If you have any questions, please post back with a comment to this thread.

1.Try cleaning the bottom of the mouse.

2.Is it a USB based mouse? Check the USB hub\devices to make sure the drivers are installed properly. Try using the mouse on different port.

3. Your mouse might be driver specific, so the default mouse drivers might not work with the one your using. If they are you'll need to download the ones they need.

My mouse cursor does not move when I move my finger across my mouse.

I'm assuming you're moving the whole mouse, and not just using something like a trackpad. Pick up your mouse, and turn it upside-down. If there's a ball, grab a can of compressed air, squirt it into the edges around the ball, and roll the ball around. If there's a piece of glass, there's supposed to be a red light, called a laser, coming out of that. If there is no light, you'll need to get your mouse replaced.

My logitech cordless mouse keeps throwing the cursor to the top or bottom of the screen while im trying to use it,and its slow to respond when im moving the mouse

Ok, if your mouse is throwing your cruiser around and it is lagging this may mean that you have too much interference between the mouse and the receiver plugged into your computer, first check to make sure that you do not have to many objects between the mouse and the computer and if your mouse uses batteries then you need some new ones in their. If that still doesn't work try unplugging the receiver from the computer and a few seconeds and plug it back in this also works sometimes.
