Question about Heating & Cooling
I tried replacing the batteries, thinking that might help having a fresh power source, but it won't measure the temp. What's wrong with it? Can I fix it in time for Thanksgiving? The numbers on a little piece of paper on the back of it have the numbers: 1470-33; 3007; P2290 . It is encased in a cream colored casing, with grey buttons and I have had it for about 1 year. I got it last Christmas (2007) for a gift, and I just love it. I use it for everything. Is it possible that the cord to the element is damaged somehow (even tho I don't see any splits in the cord) and as I mentioned above in the summarization of problem the thermo temp area on the lower left side stays frozen in Lo screen. I tried resetting in the back, to no avail. Temp up and down still works, the timer works...just the food temp gauge is on the fritz...the part I need the most!
the reason he told you not to cycle the power is because some where there is a flashing light that he can decode and tell him where to start looking for the problem. Call him next it happens and don't touch the power or the stat until he gets to see the unit.

Hi,Not nessarly shot. The stat uses low voltage from the equpitmemt also. You neea a volt meter to check.Remove stat from mounting plate.Check power at terminals RH&W or at RC&G they should read 24volt.If not check emergency switch off or fuse/breaker.

SOURCE: my toyo L-30 reads the
Lo is displayed when the room temperature is below 14F or the heater thinks the room is below 14F, which would be caused by a problem with the room temperature sensor or the sensor is unplugged. 70 is what you have the heater set to maintain. Check the white wire on back of the heater.

The T8132A thermstat requires 2 AA alkaline batteries for operation as the T8131 uses the 24VAC souce transformer with battery back up. If new batteries did not fix the problem follow product user manual to reset and program the thermostat. This should clear any errors or problems. If the problem persists then replace the thermostat. If you do not feel confident you can accomplish the task then you should call a licensed HVAC technician to troubleshoot the issue as the wrong settings could potentially cause permanent damage to your system.
