First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.
Since you did not specify exactly which model of Uniden phone you have, hopefully some generic instructions will help you out. Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for a basic Uniden Dect 6.0 Cordless Expandable phone (model D1660):
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.
See page 8 of the manual for detailed instructions on how to access and view the Caller ID list as well as delete entries from that list.
Normally, once you access the Caller ID list, then scroll through it and view all the NEW caller entries, these calls are then automatically transfered to the OLD Calls list. NEW CID entries are just those calls you have received since the last time you manuallly reviewed the Caller ID list.
To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.
You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, the follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.
I hope that was helpful to you, good luck. If you choose to rate this solution using the Thumbs Up scale provided, I thank you very much for your time and consideration.
You can purchase power adapters at this link: www.lcdpayless.com. On upper left of page search for Uniden wdect power adapter. The price is $9.99.
I found a Uniden wdect 3355+1 (two handsets; one on answering machine and one stand alone). this is a wideband (64kbps-2mbps) phone/ans. mach. It's priced at $149.95 at Yahoo shoping. The wdect2355 that you have apparently is no longer offered.
Please let me know if this is a satisfactory answer.
It looks like it's been solved by purchasing a new 1.8GHz phone- the new one seems to be having no problems. The retailer shop man said they often hear of this type of problem and recommend the 1.8GHZ models -- wish they'd told us that before we bought the previous one!!!
