Question about Makita LS1013FL 15 Amp 10 Inch Dual Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw With Laser And Fluorescent Light
The saw will start, usually, but only runs very slowly and not at a consistent speed. This model have a soft start. I'm think it may have something to do with the controller. Does that sound right? The saw is about years old and hasn't been used hard. Is this something that can be fixed or will it need a new part?
Thanks for the help,
Could be a bearing problem. If the bearings are dry and seizing up they will hinder the motor speed. Alternatively, if they are worn and allowing lateral movement in the motor the armature will rub against the field windings when it all magnatizes (sp?). I would investigate bearings before electrics. Hope this helps, good luck.
