Missing password and printer connection

I purchased a printer that can be connected to my wireless network, however I have forgotten the password. Is it possible to connect this printer to my network without purchasing an entirely new system. I have misplaced the set up CD.

Are you using internet router for your wireless network? you download software for your internet router or if you want reset your internet router this will refresh your router and give the manufacturer original settings with "admin" user without password.

you can also connect your printer to other computer and share it so that other computer on your network cab use it. just open the share printer in the network and windows will install it or go to add printer and look your printer using network.

hope this will help you.

How to change your wireless network password. Forgotten wireless password.

Hi. Thanks for looking!

Due to the fact that many questions are being asked about routers and wireless networks I decided to put little tutorial together .

· How to change my routers password (forgotten password)

Since you forgotten your password and can not connect to wireless network you will need an Ethernet network cable in order to connect to router.

Before doing anything else switch your computer on and make sure that your router is on also.

1.
Connect Ethernet cable to your routers free port at the back and the other end to your PC/Laptop network port.
Once you get confirmation that you are connected to the network (you should notice this in the task bar right lower corner of the screen)

2.
Open your internet browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address box and press enter. If this don'ttake you to the site asking for username and password please do the following.Click Start and choose run (below search) type "cmd" in the box and press enter. This should start a command prompt where you need to type in "ipconfig" and press enter. This should show you information's about your network. Default gateway address will be an address that you need to type in your browser box.

3.
Once you get to the login page, provide your username and password. You should be able to find this in your manual for router but if you can't you can find it hear--->click hear.

4.
Please note that since there's so many router vendors instructions in step 4 may vary, but these are basic.-
When you logged in to your router settings page please find wireless tab and choose security. Get to the password box and change password to whatever you like.

5.
Remember to save changes before quitting. Now unplug your cable and try to connect to your network wireless, using your new password.

Bravo! You just completed password change.

How to View or Change Your Wireless Network Password

Symptoms:

You have lost or forgotten the password to your wireless network
You have lost or forgotten the password for the router, access point or other network device
You left the default password or used a weak password and someone has hijacked your network

Depending on the router, you can either view or reset the wireless network password (also referred to as the passphrase or security key) if you can log into the router. Some routers mask the wireless network password, so while you cannot recover it, you can enter and save a new password.

If you cannot log into your router because you have forgotten the router password or your network has been hijacked, please refer to "Lost or forgotten password for router or other device" below.

To view or reset a wireless network password:

Launch your Internet browser and type http://www.routerlogin.net in or http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 the address field for your browser. Enter the router's username and password.
The default username is admin, the default password is password.
From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router administration interface, select Set Up > Wireless Settings
Note: On some routers this option will be under BASIC > Wireless.
From the center screen, you find the current wireless security settings under the Security Options heading.

If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.

Read more about Securing your Wireless Network.
If you cannot log into your router:

- If you were routed to the NETGEAR website or getting the "Page cannot be displayed" message when trying to login to router, make sure you are connected to the NETGEAR router. Check your wired connection and make sure cable is securely plugged in and LED is on. If wireless adapter is on, make sure you are NOT connected on a different wireless network.

- Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default access information to reconfigure your router settings. NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

I have forgotten the password to my wireless router network (linksys wireless-G broadband router, 2.4 GHz). How can I access in order to add an additional computer to my wireless system?

Use an Ethernet cable to connect a computer (desktop/laptop) to one of the "wired' ports on the router.

Connect to the built-in web-server "inside" the router.

Run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to configure the wireless capabilities of the router; assign an SSID, and assign a password for the wireless network.

I cannot conect to my laptop it keeps asking fot a network password but i have forgotten the password

If you don't know the password of the wireless network then you will need to open the router set up and find the wireless password.

Do you have any other computer connected to the router ?
Or any other computer online through the router ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.

open the set up page of the router on the working computer.

Hi, I am having problems with my D-Link wireless router. It seems to keep losing its connection - about once an hour. When I unplug everything and restart it works.  It is connected to a TOPCOM 5 port...

missed a bit, sorry! start internet explorer (blue e) in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press enter the new screen, type in the password to enter the set jup (as it says, admin is the default) click setup wizard, put a dot in pppoa (I'm assuming you're in the UK) click next, put in your user name and password, vpi/vcn 0 and 38 and encapsulation VC MUX, click next put channel to 11, choose an ssid (i leave mine at 3Com), click next, check all the data is correct then click on apply. Now to set up the encryption start internet explorer (blue e) in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press enter in the new screen, type in the password to enter the set jup (as it says, admin is the default) click wireless settings on the left hand side of the screen, click setup wizard select wpa-psk from the drop down box where it says pre-shared key, type in a MEMORABLE password and then click apply. Now you will lose your wireless signal. Panic ye not! Click on the smatt TV in the lower right hand side of the screen (this is called the sys-tray) you will now see that the wireless icon which looks a bit like a telly with 3 yellow arcs coming out of it's right hand side has a red cross on it. Click it once, click view wireless networks and then on the new screen click refresh network list. You will after a few seconds see your network -click on it and then on connect. A new box will come up asking you for the network key aka password. Enter the memorable password you have just forgotten in the upper and lower boxes and press enter. Et voila! you now have an encrypted wireless network and you can only get onto it if you know the memorable password!

Internet connection lost when wireless printer added to network

for reseting the password of ur dlink router u have to press the rest button on the dlink router (genrallyit on the bottom or on the back of the router it is like a hole u have to use a pen or pin to reset the router back to its factory default settings after that password of the router will automatically back to admin or password login to ur router change the settings to static ip in the router so that u can provide the static ip of the other router to ur this router (example if primary router HL 2170 ip address is 192.168.1.1 then u will provide this dlink router the ip address as 192.168.1.5, subnet 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.1.1 primary dns 192.168.1.1 now save the settings in the dlink router now the ethernet cable from ur other router will go directly in to the internetor wan port of this router. now connect wirelessly to any router both will work fine without any problem

Secure network

WIthout the exact model # of the router I cannot be exactly sure. Usually, you would connect to the router via an IP in your web browser such as http://192.168.1.1 and then enter a name and a password to get in. Then you would go to where you can change your wireless password. If the password you are missing is the one to get into the router, you must reset the router itself. There should be a button on the front or back of the router to do this. Hold it down for about 5 seconds to reset it.
