Problem with D-Link wireless router!

I suddenly noticed while using my wireless router that I would loose connection with the internet. Next I noticed the name of my wireless router had changed and was no longer password portected. I renamed my router and again establish a password, but it automatically defaults back to that mysterious name without password protection.

Contact has been made with telephone company and D-Link, but unsuccessful in correcting this problem. NEED HELP!!!!!!!

Try to reset your D-link router (press the reset button of at least 1min) reseting router will restore the manufacturer default router settings.
Note: Save or write any changes you made in your router if you customize it other than using the default settings.

Hello, A couple weeks ago my modem stopped giving me access to the internet. It then connect my desktop to the internet alone but it has never connected the other PC I had running wireless back to the...

If your trying to get on the internet with a wireless connection.and running WINDOWS, .and I am assuming you DO have a wireless router all set up and configured to broadcast the signal (not hidden) ....first we have to determine if the problem is at the router or at the laptop AND at what point its getting stuck ... so first try this

try resetting the router (disconnect the power to it for a few minutes) next --be sure the wifi switch is enabled on the netbook---next---go to CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS--right click oin your wifi card and choose properties--highlight INTERNET PROTOCOL and choose properties and be sure "OPTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY" is checked--Does the laptop "SEE" the router?
You will need your SSID to logon to the router(internet)

Very slow, or no connection to internet, on wired computer, not wireless one

Yes, it would be best to reconfigure it. Try the following but note.. resetting the router will erase all previously given settings.

First, reset the router - when the unit is on, press the reset button (using a paper clip) for 20 seconds then let go of the button. Once the WLAN light is solid, it means that router has rebooted.

Go to a computer wired to the router and open Internet Explorer, enter http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar. Enter admin for the username and leave the password blank.

Once you're in the Dlink page, this is where you can configure your Internet and Wireless settings again. Just run through the setup process (as if you just got the device out it's box).

Goodluck!

D Link DIR 635 router conection internet

Normally, all ruters are hubs as well. if you want to connect it as a hub only; try connecting only the ports minus the WAN port that goes to the DSL modem. In this case the router will behave just like a hub.
