Will not pic up my voice.

I have looked on this site and have used a couple of methods that were recomended here to fix my problem. My problem is, is that my head sets mic doesnt pic up any sound. The Microphone doesn't work. For my game i use a thing called ventrilo. It tells me wether or not i have a microphone plugged in or not. when i enter into ventrilo it tells me i dont have a mic. I hear sounds and everything fine but it willnot pic up my voice. At first it didnt work at all. After i went into control panel-> sounds and audio devices and did what one of your answerd questions told me i had to scream to get it to have one little green bar on the mic testing. I have the volume all the way up. can you help me? sorry for it so long but it would be easier to not go through any complitactions. Thank you, Hayley N. Clements

SOURCE: Microphone does not pick up voice

I am sorry to say but I think that perhaps your Microphone is faulty? These headset leads are notorious for breaking. If you know how to use a meter, perhaps you could check the circuit, and "see" if there is a Microphone attached? Could you "Test" it on another PC? But if this isn't the case below are some helpful links.. I "Googled" this --->troubleshooting microphone problems xp?

SOURCE: I get no sound and my my microphone doesnt work.

1. go to control panel
2. choose "sounds and audio devices"
3. choose the "audio" tab
4. there are "default device" for "sound playback" and "sound recording", change both to logitech usb headset"

you then effectively enable the headset and disable the speakers. and the sound will remain on the headset after unplug and replug.

SOURCE: Clear chat mic doent work

in skype go to tools>options>audio setting make sue the microphone is logitech and the green bars should start moving as you talk.
if no logitech appears or the mic is not producing sound. call logitech for warranty info. if the mic is producing sound below is "make a free skype test call" to see if the program is transmitting.

People are having difficulty hearing me

It could be that the voice tube is dirty. Sometimes just getting a sugary drink in the tube will leave crystals that can block your voice. If there is food in there, it will definitely block your voice. A couple of solutions, you can try washing and rinsing the voice tube with warm soapy water. The voice tube must be completely dry before trying to use again. And sometimes you just need to replace the tube.

Here is a link to the right voice tube, if you wanted to purchase one:

I have a Plantronics C610 headset. The caller can hear me, but I can not hear the caller.

Here are a couple of things you can try. I included the link for the user guide below.

Callers cannot hear me.
• Headset is muted. Press the mute button on headset to unmute the microphone.
• Headset microphone boom aligned incorrectly. Align the headset boom with your mouth.
• The USB adapter is not set as the default Voice device. Use the Voice settings in Windows under Sounds and Voice Devices to select "Plantronics C610/C620" as the voice device.

How do I use voice dialing

Voice dialing with the Discovery 925 should be just as easy as pressing the "call control button" for a couple of seconds and it usually prompts your phone to ask for a command. However please keep in mind that the cell phone (and service) must be capable of voice dialing, also voice dialing and voice recognition on a cell phone are two totally different things. Sometimes those are misconstrued.

I'm getting a hissing sound in the background and my voice sounds like I'm in a huge room

There are a couple of things you can try to resolve your issue. Unplug the AC power adapter from the bottom of the 500A base, if you can leave it unplugged overnight that would be the best. Plug it back in the next morning and repair the headset to the base. Before truing the headset on turn the base upside down, look at the slider switch A-D.This is how your caller hears you.
A is the quietest and D is the loudest. Most times it should be sitting on B or C. Now look at the back of the base and you will see 1-4. This is how you hear people. Most times it should be siting on 2-3. If you have the settings out of adjustment it could cause echoing in your headset or feedback for the person on the other end. I will include the link for user guide below.

No Voice Through Headset

From another website. I can't take any credit:

"I'm using Vista.

Okay, I finally figured out how to fix it ....

Control Panel -> Sound -> Right-click "Properties" -> "Levels" Tab -> Un-mute Microphone and move the slider to 100."

Then turn up the headset speaker control all the way.

Premium usb headset

Hi, A couple of things you can check first pls: 1. the logitech headset has its own mute control somewhere along the line/volume control. pls check/try it on both settings; 2. since it is USB connected, it is now a secondary audio device in your hardware aside from the onboard audio device in your computer. That gives you now 2 speaker output and 2 mic inputs. It is possible that voice recognition uses the logitech therefore it works but voice chat uses the onboard audio and since no mic is connected at the rear of your computer (I am presuming), you may have to set the voice chat to use the logitech mike also. I hope this gives you some idea and works for you. Pls post agin how things are or if you still need further assistance. Good luck and kind regards.
