Seems to be a problem that more people have. Mine does the same.

I've put a third black cartridge in and no change.

    Help!

Prints faded and dim copies. All toner is new. Is the printer just a lemon?

Yes, I experienced the same problem after change of the first (70%) toner set. Samsung would not help me out with a new devellopment kit, although i think it was pretty obvious that they should have done that. I'l never buy another printer from them !

This is a fairly common problem, caused by a faulty black developer roller. I spoke to Samsung about mine, when it was 1 day out of the warranty and explained it started happening three weeks before (which was true). It had about 1,300 page count, when fuser kit should last 20,000. An engineer visited next day and replaced the roller, as well as a cautionary replacement of the paper pick-up rubber. Print is back working fine now. Chatting to engineer, the rollers have been modified now, so the fault must be causing concern. He said he's got another ten coming in stock tomorrow. Keep the previous toners, as they will still work once printer is fixed. I must say, Samsung support is excellent (the reason I bought from them!), so speak to them and so what they will do.

MY CLP-300 PRINTER IS NOT PRINTING BLACK TXT WELL (OTHER COLOURS FINE) DESPITE HAVING A NEW BLACK TONER CARTRIDGE CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY ?

Spend a little time searching the topic on google and even this post. It appears that this has been a well documented problem since at least early 2008. The problem appears to be the imaging unit. According to several posts, Samsung has replaced several of the units. I purchased my CLP-300 in November 2008 and it worked with no problems until about 8 months in. The black text would print very lightly on the left side of the page about 1/4 of the way into the page. There was also a streak that ran down the page vertically that disrupted the text. I could change the font to any color and it would print just fine. After replacing several toner cartridges, I just began to print in a dark color for many months. After discovering all the posts on the internet this week, I contacted Samsung today with my documentation and evidence. They basically blew me off stating that I was outside of the 1 year warranty period and there was nothing they could do. I was even hung up on by a Samsung employee named Michael. Tonight I plan to take a hammer to it to relieve a little frustration. I cannot understand why Samsung chooses to ignore this well documented problem. Good luck.

You have to call the service, because developer is broken. The Toner cartridge is ok. Don't buy another one. The service tecnician updates the Firmware and replace the black developer.

Different looking text, but only in certain areas of the page.

Samsung CLP-300 color laser leaves 3-4 lines of various shades of black in middle of paper. Otherwise everything is great.
