Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

1 Answer

Thermostat auto-changeover mode unavailable

I installed a Honeywell Focuspro TH6000 series (model TH6110D1005) thermostat to replace my fairly new Braeburn 2000. I have AC and 1-stage regular gas heat and I bought the Honeywell because it has an auto-changeover feature between cool and heat.

I referenced the installation manuals for both the Braeburn and Honeywell to be sure I was connecting the right wires to the right terminals on the Honeywell. The descriptions of the functions of the four wires in both the Honeywell and Braeburn manual are the same, so I wired the Honeywell the same as the Braeburn. The jumper was used in the Braehurn and Honeywell.

Heat, cool and the fan work fine, as they did in the Braeburn. The problem is that I cannot configure the Honeywell to auto-changeover (the whole reason I bought it).

The Honeywell lets you select different modes to operate the thermostat in: heat, cool, auto-changeover and a heat-pump mode. The manuak mentions that heat pump mode will not appear on the display as an option if you don't have a heat pump (I do not have a heat pump and the option does not appear)..

The problem is that auto-changeover is also missing from the selections: heat, cool and off are the only mode choices offered.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much.

TH6000 series states it changes from Heat to Cool automatically but it does not show up on the screen and says, "depending on how installed"

How do I program a Honeywell FocusPRO 6000 Thermostat?

You can find the installation set up just goggle the model and put pdf in the search. If you paid the plumber to install it he should come back at no charge if he is not going to and it's been less then 30 days he is probably not a good plumber and could have completely screwed things up so changing settings may or may not solve the problem.

How do I change my Honeywell FocusPRO6000 TH6110D1005 thermostat to from Fahrenheit to Celsius?

Press and hold the up arrow and fan buttons until the display changes. Then press Next until you see 14 in the display. Change this value to 1 (with the up and down arrows) to get Celsius. (O is Fahrenheit.) Press Done to exit and save the setting.

The manual is available here: . Scroll to the bottom and choose a manual then press Download. This particular section is in the Installer's Guide.

I hope this helps.

Need help with electrical for Armstrong 3.5 Ton 16 SEER

Next item: What is the exact model of the thermostat? It should consist of TH6###?#### where the "#" are numbers, and the "?" is a letter. And also you can check the following:

1. Remove the thermostat by gently pulling straight out from the wall to remove it from the sub base and tell me is you have 1 or 2 terminal blocks on the sub base. This will tell me if your thermostat is a 1 stage cool or 2 stage cool thermostat.

2. Check the air handler low voltace connections and check that the wiring is connected to both Y1 and Y2 and that these wires are connected to Y1 and Y2 at the condensing unit.

It may be the case of not connecting the condensing unit 2nd stage wiring, the thermostat is only 1 stage cool, or some similiar wiring mishap. Have seen it many times over the years. People get in a hurry and forget the small things. But if this was professionally installed, you paid a good price, if you find that the wiring is incorrect or the themostat is wrong, you should call your installing contractor and demand they return to correct this issue to maintain your factory warranty. If you have any addtional questions, or concerns or need help with any of the above, you can contact me again through here or via my company website at .

Honeywell TH6000 series thermostat does not turn Fan on.

It's one of two issues; either the wiring to the thermostat is incorrect, or possibly you have an open ground. Depending on your system the wires at the thermostat end might have to pair up on one lead. go to where your unit is and look at the schematic for the control board, it will let you know what color you are looking for on the blower lead -- then make sure the corresponding color matches at the thermostat. Knowing the make and model of you unit and the board on it would allow me to be more specific, hope this helps you out some in the meantime.
