Customer was informed by rheem troubleshooting phone service that unit needed new board he received board and had someone install now he has called us on weekend to see about why it wont turn on or off and his so called plumber has left him high and dry , im looking for any info on what could have gone wrong , is there any reason why after him installing the new board it will not turn on or off and is there any instuctions on how to install board correctly , from what i read there are directions sent with new board on how to correctly install !
Most likely he did not program board with program chip....... Most of the boards i have had to replace, came unprogramed and had to program them thus the chip ...... I take setting off the old board and adjust the settings on the new board..... this really needs to be done by someone with experience working on the unit........

the system was not sized properly, you need to have a 3/4 gas line to the unit for the volume of gas it needs, the tankless water heaters need to have every bit of gas that is says, it sounds like who ever installed di not make sure you had enough gas comming in the house, you might have to either have a new meter installed or run the gas lind directly from the meter to the water heater and cap off the gas line thats there

Contact Rheem; the Burner control unit has lost comm with the remote...the part is warranteed for up to five years.

Remove power source from the unit. If remote control is installed; remove cover and lift the control wires on the terminal...can be accomplished from either end.
Restore power and see if unit functions normally.
Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support and notify them IF you are getting a code "76" error. Rheem has recently extended the warranty on the "Burner Control Assm."; which is your problem. The C4-C8 portion of the error code, is where the unit stops the ignition process...burner fails to light, or gives you intermittent hot water. In either case, contact customer support.

Error code 13 is "oxygen depletion sensor" activated.
The first number is a sequence indicator.
If you need the training manual I have it and can send it to you.
I got Rheem to send it to me a while back and it is a big help when working with these units.
It covers th RTG-42, 53, 66 and 74.

The flashing light is a trouble sequence light. Find your manual to see what 4 flashes means. It's usually attached to the side of the water heater tank. Try a quick fix by unplugging the power vent and see what happens.

customer says t-stat has been flashing at 82 wont change up or down , and cant even turn unit on or off , thank you all for your support i was am lookin to see what someone else has done and get any more info but trying to get any info on product that may help resolve quickly thanks again
hot water stopped producing , customer reset by powering off an then on , and would have hot water for about 20 min or forty five depending on units behavior , customer continued doing so for a week then contacted plumbing company , c7 code on the remote , c7 76
plumber installed new board , and instructions indicated something bout adjusting fan pressure and minimum combustion , this guy may have not done something correctly but if any one has dealt with this problem give me some info on what is usually done after installing new board ? thanks and godbless to all who are trying to help it is appreciated !
