My Z1 suddenly started having

My Z1 suddenly started having white lines across the photos I take. Some are narrow and some wider, virtually wiping out the image. I thought it might be the memory card but it happens with a different one too. Might it be the battery? There is no indication that the battery is low. What else can it be? The camera is about 3 years old and this just started last summer. I can send you a picture to demonstrate the issue.

- The recommended solution ( change the battery and/or clean the lens) did not solve the problem. I bought a battery yesterday but the same issue remains. Did anyone take the time to look at the photo that I sent that demonstrated the problem?

I read somewhere that there may be a formatting issue with the memory card when you take and delete photos. But I am unable to find anything related to this in the Z1 manual that I have. Does anyone know about this? I have two memory cards and the problem persists with both cards.

Any help you can be is greatly appreciated. The two camera stores I was aware of are not gone in this digital age.

Thanks,
Rodney

- Since the one recommended solution I received did not solve the problem I have not received any other solutions. I uploaded a photo taken with the camera which nobody responded to. My camera still does not work, I apparently have been charged for a solution that I did not receive and I am utterly unimpressed with the "experts" on this site. Please someone do something to change my mind.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, this problem on a Z1 indicates a developing fault in the CCD lens. If not attended to professionally, it might lead to bigger problems in the very near future.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

look for a possible crack down the lens, this can cause white stripes

- another suggestion is look for foreign objects that may be trapped inside the lens area of the camera, for example, hair or small piece of material causing the distorted pictures
