ProForm XP 110 Elliptical resistance won't adjust

Resistance on my Pro Form 10 Elliptical Excersizer will not adjust. I used to be able to hear adjustments but now there is no noise when I change resistance seetings on the console. I think the motor that adjusts the location of the C-magnet has stopped functioning. How difficult is the motor to replace and what is the likelyhood motor replacement will fix the issue?

Mine recently started doing the same thing. The computer still says it's changing gears but the resistance doesn't get any harder and I also do not hear the changing of gears. I hope this is an easy fix.

The resistance on my Eclipse 1100 HR/A machine is not working at all. What could be the problem?

Note Ronnie's solution above to clean the sensors (that's somewhat hidden by promotions here).

Fitness Quest failed: Thus company support and parts prove virtually non-existent. The company performed a huge recall: Fitness Quest sent the 1100 HR/A as the replacement machine to satisfy the recall--the overall expense likely proved too much for the company to bear. (The recalled machine had weak crank arms.) Fitness quest told me to send in the right foot platform to prove ownership and to trash the recalled machine.

You might carefully try to clean the circuit board and LCD in the console. I've described this in detail. (Sorry about the grammatical errors in that--it was late.) http://www.fixya.com/support/t24425996-get_timing_circuit_or_circuit_board Note also my recommendations for obtaining a similar machine as a replacement. You may obtain a similar-level used machine (or, alternate gear and other fitness-related products) relatively cheaply.

Reebok RL 1500 elliptical lost all resistance

I had the same exact problem, and I mean the EXACT same problem. I also changed out the battery with no change. I contacted the generator company thinking it might be that, but they told me it could be the control board. I ordered a control board, changed it out, and now it works like new.

To sum up: Get a new control board.

No resistance when pedaling

Since I have the same problem with my three years old Kettler Golf Pro bike as described by steve949, then I would like to get some help. I did put apart my bike, and tried to adjust the screw which stretch the drive belt. But it didn't help. In my opinion the this rubber belt seems to be exchanged into the new one, next I intend to order such.Or, am I wrong?

Monitor diplays E1 and won't stop beeping

Fitness Quest Eclipse 1175e Elliptical Trainers were recalled on December 11, 2007 for a fall hazard. During exercise, the foot pedal crank can break. After receiving 190 reports of the crank breaking, the company is offering a replacement product or credit toward other Fitness Quest products. If the pedal falls off, be sure to save it; you will need the right foot platform to claim the replacement or credit.
Owners should stop using the elliptical trainer immediately. Owners can receive a replacement with another Fitness Quest product or credit.

E1 errors are usually lubrication/resistance issues. Has the unit been oiled/greased recently?
