Question about Briel Domus Due Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Briel Apollo no water when making espresso

I just bought this machine and it has never worked. I don't get any water when making espresso. Just a small tiny drip even if I don't have the filter basket on. Sounds like the pressure is building and the light goes on.

Check that the water tank is seated properly. When you lower it in place just give it a little nudge down to make sure its slotted into the catch.

Where do I find the schematics/drawing of internal parts for Briel Cadiz Espresso maker

I just bought a new Briel Cadiz and it doesn't make crema. I tried my old Briel crema filter and it works fine making good cream. I was told to untighten the screw in the new crema filter but the screw just goes round and round, even with an electric drill. Can't tighten it or loosen it. Anyone got any suggestions?

Briel ES 200 AP machine no water for coffee but yes for steam

This post is REALLY old, so you probably already fixed or discarded your machine. But for others with similar problem....

You may have a blocked top filter screen. If the machine is not cleaned regularly this screen can become so dirty and clogged that the water cannot get through.

Easy way to tell is run a shot without the portafilter basket in place. Water should flow out of the top screen. If you see it spurting out in small streams it needs to be cleaned.

On the ES200AP MPS machines you simply need to remove the screw in the middle of the screen, clean well, then replace.

Briel machine doesn't work

This might sound silly, but are you sure the water tank is well snapped into place. A strange sound does occur when the water tank is empty, but if the water tank valve is not tightly in place, it might stop the water from going through.

Water forced out around seal when making espresso.

1- Try cleaning the seal with a group brush if you do not have one you can get a hard toothbrush this will clean the coffee grounds on the seal, if the problem still occurs then the seal needs to be replaced.

Briel Chamonix es35 New..

Pods are expensive. I buy espresso grind from my favorite local espresso shack and I take regular drip coffee filters and cut small discs from them to put in the bottom of the cup that holds the grounds (moisten first). It works great and keeps the finer grounds from clogging it up.

Try opening the frothing valve by turning the dial and force water through it instead of steam by pressing the middle, coffee button. You may be experiencing vapor lock. Once the water comes through the steamer valve, turn the steamer knob off and release the coffee button. Then try the steamer button with the steamer dial open. This may do the trick.
