That means that the tv is switching itself off because it detects an internal error, try leaving the tv unplugged for one hour and see if this can solve the problem.

If you still get the TV turnig off after plugging back the power, that means that there is an internal error. The tv must be taken part and tested by a technician.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, would only suspect a loose connection, a possible cold solder or a heat related issue. As of the moment doubt if any major component is faulty since the unit would still power on albeit would switch off thereafter.

It is important to have the exact model number. This would assist in narrowing possible problem. additionally, this would require opening the unit for a look & see. This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Sounds like your power supply is beginning to go out. If the TV is still under warranty, I would suggest going that route. If not, I would most likely sall around to get a few estimates on how much it would cost to fix it. I would say that you have a 99% chance that's what's wrong with it though.

My 52" flat panal Samsung LCD keeps turning on and off by itself

that is the worst news you can receive from the manufacturer they pretty much shun you after the warranty has expired its very disconcerting and unfair to consumers I would make sure when you talk to them that the work that was done should have been under some warranty and if it was not the place the blame entirely on the technician who came in and tell them it was at least working to some extent cough cough before they sent someone who broke it even more if after this they dont comply boycot the brand and look for a new or gently used tv

Im terribly sorry to hear about this

52" Samsung LCD will not turn on. Blue light is on

Have you ssen the back light lit up? If not, the power supply may have problem. If it has back light, then the suspection are the main board, T-con and inverter. Those boards need checked to find out exact defective board.

Self- reboots at start-up, then shows picture but with pink dots.

Howdy,
It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM811, CM812, CM817 & CS806; 1000ufd 25volts. It is the board to the left and you notice that the four cap tops are swollen.
It is easy to replace get a stanard solder pencil and you are in business.

Thanks for using FIXA, BIG IRISH.
