you didnt say what model this is, but i assume its hydrostatic because it has a drive shaft. is the hydrostatic unit filled with oil¿ if its ok, check the linkage from the pedal to the rearend (hydrostatic drive) make sure its not broken or loose.. if that l@@ks ok, check both ends of the drive shaft making sure the couplers are not broke and the drive shaft is ok. hope this helps.

Yes, there is a switch on the motion lever on the transmission, but there is also a relay switch that is taped to the fuse under the hood of the mower...if this goes bad, the deck will not come on

you can pull up your Cub

What model? I have a 1554, that I just took to the dealer, for repairs, for the same thing. The motor starts, the blades engage and cut, it just stopped moving forward, or reverse. If I remember, I'll get back on here and let you know, unless you already know?

after staring that bottom of the rear undercarriage I noticed a belt (rear top center) has come off the pulley. Is there a trick to gettig it back on without professional service.
Mike - thanks however getting thebelt to stretch enough to get it on the pulley is almost ompossible. Are the pulley's moveable bychange - seems oif I could move one 3/4 inch over then I could get the bet back on.
the actual belt is in great condition and slipped off somehow. It is the upper belt and sits fine on two of the three pulleys. The rear pulley doen not turn freely but the other 2 do. Looks like I would need to move a pulley about 1/2 inch over to get the belt back on...
