I recently downloaded a 3rd party application called handzipper lite (a zip/unzip application). Everything I download that is a zip file, it doesnt show up in that application. Also, my Treo isn't downloading any PRC files onto my phone. It used to though. I dont know what happened. If there are any other zip/unzip applications that are free like handzipper lite that I can download onto my phone, that would be wonderful.

Be sure that your Treo is "unlocked" if you can use it with any SIM and
you do not have to limit yourself to a single service provider.
This will upgrade your ROW software to version 1.13 and your system firmware to version 1.28.
Note: This ZIP archive contains all the files that need to be
transferred to the Treo, but it does NOT include an installer. It is
primarily intended for advanced users who do not have access to a
Windows or Mac machine:
* Download and unzip to your SD Card (with HandZipper or a similar tool).
* Backup your data.
* Clear at least 15 MB of RAM space (best to simply hard reset).
* Copy/move all 44 files to RAM.
* Warm reset.
* If the updater doesn't start automatically, execute the "Device Customizer" application manually.
NOTE: PLS. READ IT CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP...

You must install the version of Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager included on the CD-ROM with your new handheld, even if you already have an earlier installation on your computer, and even if you will synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. This ensures that the desktop components of any new handheld features are added.
Put the new handheld's CD-ROM² in the CD-ROM drive.
Follow the installation instructions that appear.
When prompted, select the existing username of your old handheld.
During installation, you will be asked to perform a HotSync operation. Use the same existing username as above.
Once installation is complete, your PIM¹ data and third-party applications will be transferred to your new handheld. Your new handheld will have the same name as your old handheld.
To avoid confusion, change the name on your old handheld once you're sure that you have all your data transferred to your satisfaction. If you're going to sell or give it away, you may wish to perform a hard reset to erase all your personal data.

If you are running 3rd party apps, your E2 is starting to reject them. Either hard reset your E2 and reload everything or lose it and get a Siemens SX66. I had an E2 and a Z22. Wouldn't have either now. My wife has an E. Too bad
make sure the sim card is sitting snugly in the phone and if you have recently downloaded or added and 3rd party software that can mess up the phone, had the same problem and after I went through recently added programs I removed 1 at time and found the program causing the problem...have not had a problem since...have a Treo 680 for past 2 years
You will have to unzip it locally on your computer then take the program and add is to the Palm desktop installer program on you computer. Palm may issue an error if it doesn't recognize it in the correct format when adding it to the Palm desktop installer.
