Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

''Key LOCKED. System Shutdown.'' Problem

I have a Sansa e280 and whenever I turn it on or try to charge it this message appears: "Key LOCKED. System Shutdown." Any help?

Disengage the hold/lock button on top of the player.

There's a slide switch on the top end of the machine, near the headphone jack. Slide the switch away from the jack to unlock it.

Key locked mode is on


To unlock it Press and Hold the Home button until an “Unlocked” Message appears. also Press and hold the home button to lock the unit, this can only be preformed when the unit is powered. good luck.

there is a hold button on the top of your device. move it to the left and then turn it on.

you have to turn the lock off by moving the lock tab on the side of the mp3 player to the left.

Sounds to me like your hold switch is on. Have you tried sliding your hold switch on top of the player, next to the headphones jack to the off position?

Have you tried recharging the battery? If it is not showing when you connect it to your computer, try holding down the Menu/On-Off button for 15 - 30 seconds and see if it goes on.

the switch on top of your sansa is set to the locked position (shows orange). switch it to the other position.
