Welcome to FixYa! My name is Steve. The yellow exclamation mark indicates, in this case, that the operating system does not recognize the device as a network adapter so it sends it to the Other or Unknown category. The chipset and network drivers could be on the recovery cd but you can download it here: http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T2824 and it is the Intel I/O controller, LAN and Network Interface that work together and are integral to the motherboard: http://downloads.emachines.com/drivers/network/Intel_PRO_6_4_14_0_readme_en.pdf  so the  yellow ! might also be one of the other circuits involved but you don't need to chase that down as the chipset & LAN drivers will take of that issue. If you need any further assistance please post again. Steve Medley

If you have various devices showing yellow exclamtion marks, then you may need to update the drivers for them, or the drivers for the devices are not installed.

Write down the make and model numbers of the devices then do a google search for the relelvant drivers to download. If you have trouble finding the drivers, let me know and I will see what I can do

I hope this helps

Windows XP won't load on my emachine t3516

You may need to check to make sure Windows XP was installed properly, if the computer had crashed, you can do a repair, I am a computer technician, and I can tell you, that replacing the power supply will not do that.

Hi,

It depends on the XP version. You can try loading the basic XP 2002 version.

Tried to do a restore with restore disc that came with the comput

There seems to be a problem with the operating system that is being installed. This often happens if you use the restore disks that came from another computer.

Are you sure that you used the disks that came with that exact computer? Does it flash a blue screen right before restarting the cycle?

Try the restore over again and if the problem persists, you may have to either order new restore disks for your computer or buy a fresh copy of Windows XP.

Emachine w3107 reboots when windows xp loads

These kinds of issues are most often related to driver conflicts. First thing you need to do is reboot your PC while holding F8, until you receive the menu about booting in to Safe Mode. Try booting in to Safe Mode.

If you can get in to Safe Mode, disable any new devices you have recently installed, reboot again, this time letting it try to boot all the way to Windows.

If it reboots again, go back in to Safe Mode and disable/uninstall something else.

Basically, it is a process of elimination. Safe Mode loads a very minimal set of system drivers, so if you can boot in to Safe Mode but not in to full Windows, the problem is one (or more...) of the drivers that load in Windows but don't load in Safe Mode.

Emachine trouble

There are several causes that are common.
The first, especially with e-machines, is they do not like service pack 2 updates.
If you have a standard winxp cd you can boot from that and choose repair console once the cd starts to load win xp files.

First, I would attempt to load windows by as it boots, press F8 to go into options, select first LAST KNOWN GOOD Configuration

If that doesn't work then select SAFE MODE.
If you can get in in the SAFE MODE, select ADMINISTRATOR
no password and try and undo changes that were made.
