Vertical line on NEC LCD1970nx monitor

Hi I would be grateful for help with the following problem: I have a NEC LCD 1970nx monitor which has recentlystarted showing a vertical line about 2-3inch thick after I turn the monitor one and use it for about an hour or so... The only way of getting rid of this line is to turn the monitor off, leave it to cool down for a period of time (the longer the better) and then when I turn it on, I can use it again for another 10-25minutes until the line is back... I have made a video of this and posted it on YouTube (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlUtZ4_hYYU) - please watch it, it is not a scam. Please let me know if I can fix this problem and how. Many thanks, LC

I have a blackout on the right 2 inches from top to bottom of my monitor. It used to flicker lines but is now solid black.

Same as the other posts, however, mine is only yellow and 3" off the left hand side of the screen.

SOURCE: Yellow vertical line

Lightly press on the line at the top and bottom of the screen. If the line goes away while presses then its the TCP connector problem. You will have to open the monitor and use a piece of soft rubber to keep the tcp pressed.

Word of caution: TCP is extremely fragile, so be very careful.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: Sony Vaio VGN-Cr220e "Blurry colored lines all over pc screen"

I've just had this issue with a laptop. Tried replacing the cable with no luck. The issue was in the board attached to the display itself. Had to replace the entire screen.

My NEC MultiSync LCD1970NX monitor went black while in use and green power light is flashing.

If the system is booting up and if you see the "NUM LOCK" key lighting up in your keyboard then the system is working fine. The problem is with your graphic card. Check and repalce it. If not, the problem is with your monitor. Check the warranty and ask for a replacement.

Screen turns gray with lots of vertical lines with some pink color as well. Happens sporadically.

Make sure that the cable from your monitor is securely plugged into the back of your PC and that the screws to hold it in place are tightened.

NEC LCD1712 Problem

Please try your monitor on a friends computer.

This is a very odd problem so you should make sure it's being caused by the monitor.

If it is the monitor, it's a tough one. It could be a bad main board, or a bad LCD panel.

I would check your warranty status. It sounds like it may need to have the signals checked on the board to determine which of the two parts are causing the problem.

On screen thin yellow and blue vertical lines.

Unfortunately the LCD is going faulty.. one or more of the "Driver" transistors that operates the LCD elements RGB, have faulted ON.. perhaps this link may help fix it. Otherwise :( http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor
