Question about Computer Monitors
Hi I would be grateful for help with the following problem: I have a NEC LCD 1970nx monitor which has recentlystarted showing a vertical line about 2-3inch thick after I turn the monitor one and use it for about an hour or so... The only way of getting rid of this line is to turn the monitor off, leave it to cool down for a period of time (the longer the better) and then when I turn it on, I can use it again for another 10-25minutes until the line is back... I have made a video of this and posted it on YouTube (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlUtZ4_hYYU) - please watch it, it is not a scam. Please let me know if I can fix this problem and how. Many thanks, LC
I agree man pack back up that sucka and as fast as you can get it back to the store before they tell you you must have did something or you have to wait to have the set looked at!!

SOURCE: Yellow vertical line
Lightly press on the line at the top and bottom of the screen. If the line goes away while presses then its the TCP connector problem. You will have to open the monitor and use a piece of soft rubber to keep the tcp pressed.
Word of caution: TCP is extremely fragile, so be very careful.
Hope this helps

I've just had this issue with a laptop. Tried replacing the cable with no luck. The issue was in the board attached to the display itself. Had to replace the entire screen.
