I am sorry to hear that your USB pen drive got a virus. If the message you get when you are cleaning or reformatting the drive is password protected, the drive is very much finish. I would suggest you to buy a new one.
there is a corruption in your pen drive...try to connect to some other PC/laptop and if working there format it and then use in you PC....
pen drives are very sensitive to shakes and shocks....we misuse pendrives by rough handling....so they will get corrupted often...
i suggets use a re-writable DVD disk of say 4.7 GB insted of usb stick ....it costs less and also does not get infected by virus....
i have stoped using mem sticks....i use DVD RW disks....
If your pen drive is not detected by your pc or any other pc. Then your pen drive hardware or chips are damaged. There is no way to recover data from it. Or If the pen drive is working but not showing your data try Data Recovery Software like steller, recuva download from here http://www.stellarinfo.com/ http://www.recoverybull.com/ http://www.datarecoverysoftware.com/ http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva/ http://www.filehippo.com/download_macrium_reflect/
You can further contact me or thanks me on my email id email@example.com
If the pen does that in all pc's then the data is truly corrupted and nothing you can do will fix that. Format the pen, put more data on it and try to read it. If the corrupt message appears again then the pen is dead, junk it.
hi, please check the device manager if USB is enabled there to go to device manager start menu > run > type in without quotes"devmgmt.msc" > the device manager look for usb (universal serial bus controllers)
if they are ok ( there shouldn't be any exlamation sign next to any usb device check expanding the title for universal searil bus controller) neither they should be disabled no cross should be there next to them
then go to computer management by going to
start menu > rin > type in without quotes 'compmgmt.msc' > removable storage > right click > properties > security > use, control, modify should be allowed for your user name
if this is also right click on disk management in same window and then insert the usb drive in check if it detects and show here, if it shows format the drive as fat
and now when you insert it the next time it will show automatically
if any of the above doesn't work
restart the system and then press F2 /delete key (whichever applicable in your case) to enter bios at mercury logo and check here if usb is enabled or not. if disabled enable it and follow the above steps again.
