Check if you see the dvd drive when the computer starts, right after you hit the power buttom start pressing Tab key and make sure you see the dvd drive there if you do, turn off the computer and turn it back on and hit F8 on your keyboard and go to safe mode, go into accesories, system tools and click sytem recovery pick a date and hit finish after that just boot normaly and try it.

I have a dell 755 that the CD drive won't play certain CD's. It is not the CD because it plays on other machines. Some CD's will play just fine. Get's the error message Unable to Access Drive D tr

it depends on the files on the cd ...they might require a certain software to be installed in order to be read..for example the player may not be able to read mp4 without a codec installed ..or vcd (video cd ) to need a dvd player installed or a player that supports video cd and dvd-es..Same way for other file types...or ...certain speeds being imposed on writing ..and your cd drive to be unable to read them on those speeds..

Wont read or recognise there is acd inserted

When you open my computer do you see the drive in the window? If the drive does not show up in this window you can check two things, check to be sure that the cable connecting the drive to the mother board is good. And the other issue could be that the drive itself has gone bad. If it is unable to read any cd's then you probably need a new drive. Be sure to put in several cd's to be sure it is not the cd disk.

Sony VGC RB53 wont recognize blank writeable cd/dvd's

Insert a blank CD, try to burn something on to the disk, if that is successfully done than the CD drive is fine, unless you have a problem. Sometimes blank discs don't show up with direct click.

You are attempting to download music from a CD to your hard drive? Perhaps it is write protected.

Cd and dvd wont play

check that the drive is present in my computer and try playing disc from there first. Also right click on the drive letter and go to properties. There's a trouble shooter there. Hope this helps
