Question about Samsung SP46L6HXX/XEU 46" HDTV-Ready DLP TV

TV picture is dark, TV takes forever to start up

The picture has gotten progressively darker on my tv. It sucks now. I thought I bought the PRP plan on my TV because that was how the sales person explained it to me in the store, but once again the helpful best buy associate lied to me and now I am stuck with this TV. I have the PSP plan but it is impossible to file a claim on bestbuy.com. I don't know how many times I have been dissappointed by best buy. It's really getting old. I don't understand why they want to make things so difficult for their customers.

If you are getting the same problem with both TV monitors it could then be assumed it's an input problem to the TV monitor. If you are using a digital output from your receiver it could be the cabling. If you are using an analog output from your receiver it is probably coming from the receiver.
Digital video processing does have issues with darker scenes.
Can you try another video source seperate from the receiver like a DVD or better yet an analog VHS, if you still have one. Good luck and let me know.

Screen Brightness

Your ballast may not be up to 100% of its rated capabilities, thats often the cause when the brightness level gets to unwatchable levels. You may need to troubleshoot the ballast voltages a defective ballast can usually cause a lamp to loose about 60 % of its brightness levels. The other possibility could be the DLP mirrors need polishing but that is something better left to a repair shop as the DLP mirrors are sensitive

Color is too dark

Unplug the TV,remove the front panel to gain access to the CRT sockets - loosen the screws that hold the sockets to the necks of the CRT's - now unplug and replug each socket from each CRT - this will remove any dust resistance on the pins of the CRT's - after doing this, the brightness level should go up.

Picture is getting darker and darker

if the tv has never been service before you could have dust on the 3 tubes, this will decrease the brightness to the screen. try taking the front or back off & see if you can see the top of the picture tubes. remember to unplug the tv & to clean spray the cleaner on the colth , then clean the tup of the tube. never spary on the tube itself. hope this works for you.
