I had the same problem with mine. you can view your photos in two ways, on your PC suite and then via your memory card (external Memory). if you want to view them via your memory card, you have to go to the folder with all your photos in, go to mark/unmark and copy the marked ones over to the external memory. Or you can view them directly with the PC suite.

Getting photos off the phone onto the computer

It will depend on what software you're running on the computer, but if you have Windows 7, just connecting the phone via the USB cord should bring up an option menu (after the computer searches for and installs a driver for your phone) which allows you to "download pictures" or "view files". Even if the menu doesn't pop up, you're phone should still appear on your computer as an external drive. Simply open the drive, and look in a folder called DCIM for the pictures.

Hi, just bought a htc phone and want to put the pic's i've taken with my phone on my computer. How do i do that?

Hi dforte1145,
  • Connect your G1 to your computer via USB
  • Pull down the notification menu and select "USB connected: Select to copy files to/from your computer."
  • "Turn on USB storage"
  • Now open your phone in a folder on your computer
  • You will see a folder that says "DCIM" (This is where your pictures are stored)
  • Open DCIM and view the pictures in the folder "Camera"
  • Drag the photos you want to copy into the "Camera" folder
  • Safely remove your G1 from your computer (Windows: "Safely remove hardware" OSX: Drag G1 icon into the trash bin Linux: Unmount)
Now open the "Gallery" application on your phone all all of your photos should be there!

How to put pictures on the computer from phone

Your phone came with a USB cable go ahead and plug it into your phone and computer.

Next from your G1 pull the drag down menu at the top of your screen (The White bar with the time and notifications) using your finger.

Were it says USB connected tap that with your finger then select mount.

It should then pop-up on your screen and you can open files to view and select the folder DCIM.

Drag the photos from the folder to your desktop.

Good Luck

G1 - how to get photos from my pc to my g1 phone?

This is how I did it. I am using Windows Vista so it maybe different for other OSs.

Find and select the picture(s) on your pc, copy them using CTRL-c.
Plugin your g1, and if you have installed the drivers, you need to goto your g1 and hold the USB icon on the top of the screen for a couple seconds. It should expand downwards, then pull it down. open the USB connected by toucing it. Touch the "Mount" button on the screen.

Autoplay dialog box should open on your pc, select "open folder to view files". open "dcim" folder. Paste the pictures in that folder.
NOTE: You will not be able to access the sdcard from the g1 until you unplug the USB after you're done.

Once all the pictures are uploaded into the sdcard, goto "My Computer" on your pc, rightclick the sdcard drive(it should be named like "Removable Drive" or something, and select "eject".

Now remove the USB cable, Select "Pictures" icon in you apps, if needed select "dcim" folder, and touch the pictures.

Siimilar can be done with music, just changing the instruction to "My Music" on your pc and also opening "Music" icon on your g1.

Ku990 mobile to pc connection fail.

Yes janne_y_ang, I would have to tell you that from my own personal exprerience from using this phone has lead me to the conclusion that using BLUETHOOTH or the SOFTWARE CD are not the best or fastest ways to sync or transfer files from your computer to your phone or vise versa, so Im going to tell you the safest, fastest, and Easiest way to do it, using your USB ,but it may require you to change settings manually on your device first. Make sure you have a Memory card,
Choose settings for USB connections
1.Find "USB connection mo..."
  • Press the menu icon.
  • Press the fourth tab.
  • Press Phone settings.
  • Press Connectivity.
  • Press USB connection mo....
  • 2.Select setting
  • Press Mass storage
  • Press OK.
  • 3.Exit

Once you've done this and have your memory in your device, Open the MY COMPUTER folder in your computer and connect your device to your computer using the USB cord, a new Icon will appear containing the folders from your device's memory card, that way you will easily be able to transfer files back and forth without the NEED of any sofware Cd's or use slow Bluethoot.

And Welcome to the Viewty Family! Enjoy...!
