The plug has a large and a small prong, the large one is the neutral or ground. test the ends of the cut chord to the metal of ref. the one that has continuity is the neutral and the large prong plug.

MY CONDENSER FAN ISNT WORKING HOW CAN I TEST IT IT

Dear sir

please open first it's control panel and find out that 4 wire . there is two wire for power supply and two for motor capacitor find out which two wire has connect to a capasitor and which two wire has connect to power supply if you could find out that two wire then take a multi tester and take out two wire who is coming to power sources and check continuity between in these two wire if continuity tester show there is no continuity between these wire then it's mean motor binding/pre fuse is ok if not continuity then maybe motor binding problems and it's need to rebind the motor. if there is continuity between these wire then motor is ok and problems in it's safty device or it can be problem in control panel or capacitor and it's need to change.

Check power to fan with voltmeter to determine if it's the power supply or the the fan motor itself. You can get manual and parts at repairclinic.com

Ice dispenser isnt working

This is something most people can't do without knowing something about how things work, check water supply, tubing and power. Most water supply comes from under ( in back ) of the unit, if you have water then it's a power problem,if power is ok, a switch maybe the problem. If you can not do this yourself then I suggest a serviceman look at it ( from the firm that the refrig. was made like Sears or GE, Maytag. Don't do anything that will cost you more money - in the long run you will spend more.

Ice forming on rear of freezer wall

The best way to determine what has caused a non defrosting GE electronic control model is to first access the control board. Jump terminals line power to defrost, (J4 and J9). An amp probe should be placed on this jumper wire to determine current draw of the defrost circuit. A three amp draw is what is normal for this circuit. This will eliminate checking behind the evaporator cover to determine a defective heater or over temp device (defrost terminator). Note: This test is only to check the defrost circuit. It does not initiate a defrost cycle. If the unit is in any other cycle than defrost, that cycle will continue to operate as well.

DOES NOT MAKE ICE

yes. remove the cover of the icemaker. if you have brown head on the ice maker with a large white gear in the center, look to make sure both tabs in the center of gear are intact. you should not be able to move this gear at all. if you can the the icemaker isnt tell the valve to put any water in it. replace icemaker head. if it is tight, no movement at all then replace water valve
