Hello! This is eagle.. What happened.. You didn't type a single word! You tried twice and I picked up the chat both the times..Looks like some kind of connection problem.. I have been waiting forever for you to type! Anyways can you please post an image of the set powered on? Also did you try adjusting the convergence settings of the set?

This means that the convergence ICs(STK) are damaged. Replacing them and some resistors around them would resolve this problem. However this is a pretty tough repair and not advisable if you dont have good knowledge of electronic repairs. The ICs cost around 60$(for two). Please mention the model number of your set so that I can get you the part number of the STK ICs.

The part number is STK392-040. Sanyo ICs are usually the best and my preffered choice. If you want to try doing it yourself then you will need to get a heat sink compound as well. Costs 11$ each. You will need to get two of them. Here's the link

The ICs will do for the fix. However you may also have to replace some resistors that may have gone faulty. Usually the parts including resistors for fixing this problem cost me around 35$-40$. So I dont think you need to get a new board.

Projection tv has 3 versions of what is on tv instead of one

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
