When surfing the net some websites are missing the search bar and other items such as choices to go to. For example on the Martha Stewart Living website search bar and where to click for the different places to go to like crafts, food etc. doesn't show up... thanks for your help...

Re: missing search bars and items on websites
Try downloading Mozilla Firefox from www.firefox.com. Install it and see if it will show the tabs. When you first use it, DO NOT IMPORT, anything from Internet Explorer because it will just import the corrupt settings over to Firefox.
Please let me know if this resolves the problem. If it did, would appreciate if you rate it.

You may have installed an add-on tool bar / search bar. Click on the 3 bars on Chrome (Custom and Control...). Then go to settings, then to Extensions and disable and remove any unwanted items. Setting also has the Search configuration that you can manage.
It is always best to go to the toshiba website at www.toshiba.com than in the search bar type in bios update than your model number,
there are other places as well like this one will give lots of info if you type this in your search bar
Toshiba PSPD8U-007001 Satellite P305D-S8828 17
also you can type bios update in search bar and there is plenty as well.

Try removeing any external devices and reboot the unit.
Next, look at your device manager for flags..
Remove any if shown in manager.
Restart the unit.
If you still don't have control of the scroll bar, try booting into safe mode and see if you have control their.
If you still do not have control of the scroll bar, try reloading the drivers for the mouse and touch pad.
Buy any chance do you have a mouse lock or switch on the unit that may be on.
I know, on the center of my touch pad, I have a switch to engage and dis-engagae.
Hi i have VGN-FW160E,i think i had such problem once.
when your system boots, press one of the keys which brings you restore system items.(F8 or F12 or F10,depends on your system).
I don't remember exactly, but via the choices named
"restore drive C completely" or sth like this,as it's the 3rd or 4th choice,of course with the backup dvd or not(there is also a choice without the dvd).it'll solve your problem by installing a new windows with different way its self.
But be careful,it will delete all the data in any of your drives,EVERYING! if it didn't work for you,ask again,i'll take a better look.
