    Same problem. The Proxy server checkbox, is unchecked. But still the same problem.

    same problem here...the Proxy server checkbox is unchecked but still receiving the message with try later... I tryied to connect with another id but, nothing changesd...same message...

I had the same exact problem and I solved it myself. This error will also display if you had changed your password recently.To fix it, you simply enter your new password in. Your Yahoo! Messenger will then be able to login again. Note: This will only work if you have the "Remember my ID & Password" checked. If not, then it could be that you're entering your password in wrong or something. Another thought is that maybe your account got hacked and the hacker had changed the password on you.

1. Open your Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab
3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open
4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.
5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes.
6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.

Make sure you spelled your password correctly. Make sure the caps is on of off depending on your password. Try closing out yahoo messenger and restarting the application. If that does not work reboot your machine. If that does not work uninstall your messenger then reinstall it. If that does not work contact yahoo for further assistance.

  1. Close down yahoo messenger.
  2. On your system tray, located at the bottom right corner of your screen where your time is, right click on yahoo messenger and then click on exit
  3. Start your yahoo messenger again.
  4. Click on Messenger at the top and then click on preferences
  5. click on connection
  6. make sure it is set to connect directly and specify your internet connection type.

Here at the time of signing in/ it is showing some error


are you able to login to your yahoo mail, check your id and password. If persists, contact yahoo technical support.

Here's how I solve it:
1. Open your Internet Explorer
