Hi, when the ice tray calls for water, the water fills the tray, but at one far corner of the tray water spills over the side of the tray a bit.it eventually accumalates in the freezer.i can see that the tray has a slight twist in it.is that normal ? how would i correct that problem ? i cant remember if that twist was always like that or not.what could have caused that ? do you have any suggestions and how would i go about fixing the problem. thank you for your cooperation greg should i get another tray ? how does the tray come off ? is there some sort of adjustment that can be done ? thank you

Here is a simple tip that may help you decide what is causing this problem. If the ice maker has no ice cubes in the slots fill with tap water and allow water to freeze. If the ice maker cycles and drops the ice into the ice bin and then does not refill with water the problem is the 241734302 Water Inlet Valve (providing that the model number above your post is correct) If the ice maker only sits there with ice in the slots and does nothing the ice maker is the problem 5303918277 Ice Maker Assembly Testing the water control valve is as follows. I will be here to answer any questions you may have, Thanks Sea Breeze
When the ice maker calls for water it'll be filling for about 7 seconds if is more the ice maker inside control board is bad , but if there's water in the ice maker all the timeeven after or before it calls for water it means that the water valve (solenoid) that supplies water to the ice maker is leaking and you have to replace it.
So many different types. lots of info needed. In short, lg have DIPswitches on main board. By adjustment of these switches, the water in can be controlled.I dont think there is a water sensor on these makers per say.Does the water ever switch off at any time and if so, is the inflow time constant?. Assuming the solonoid valve is not defective.
Hi make sure that the arm on the ice maker is in the down posistion as it will only put water in the ice maker in this posistion. It will take a little time to fill so be patient as the timer in the front on the ice maker needs to cycle first. Make sure you have connected it all correctly to...
Hello. Yes, that is the correct position for the icemaker feeler arm. The updated icemaker has a longer feeler arm that hangs down a little more (thereby shutting off sooner when the ice piles up not so high).
Your water leak onto your food is from water spilling out of the front left corner of the ice tray during fill. This has also been updated with a plastic lip that keeps the water from sloshing out when filling up.
The photo shows that your ice tray appears to be unlevel and drooping in the front left corner. This happens with flex tray icemakers over time. The icetray does not fully flex back to its level posiiton. I do not feel you need to replace the entire icemaker. Repalcing just the ice tray should fix your issue.
is the icemaker cycling at all? pull the front cover offf of the icemaker and verify that the gear isnt broken. if so replace the motor module. if thats ok the next 2 things could be either a frozen fill tube or bad fill valve..
Check your ice cube tray to see if it is warped. Mine was. I took the tray off and dipped it into boiling water and remoulded it to the original shape and re-installed it. So far no problems. The tray gets warped because of the ice cube release mechanism. The tray is rotated around until it meets a block on one corner which creates the twisting motion we used to do on manual trays. Over time it tends to warp the tray. Good luck
