Question about Kenmore 94812 Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

Dryer heats up, but acts like the motor isn't turning

I have a whirlpool leq9030pqo, the heating element went out a week or so ago, and I exchanged the element and the thermostats.

Now.. When I turn the knob to a specific time and then turn the switch on and press, the unit doesn't do anything. The heating element comes on and it gets hot. But does nothing else.. Could the on/off switch be causing this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Replace Zanussi ZWD12270W faulty dryer heating element

Just for the record, the heating element went on mine too and I'd only used it less than half a dozen times. The engineer said that it went because it hadn't been used enough (it gets moisture inside somewhere). He said if I didn't use it I would have the same problem after it had been replaced. So make sure you dry something every couple of weeks (he said at least once a month).

Hoover VHW654D-80 not heating

see the causes, and proceed. God bless you
f your dryer won't heat up, it's possible that it is not being supplied with the proper voltage. Here are three ways to make sure power is getting to your dryer: First, make sure your dryer is plugged in. Next, check the circuit breaker panel to make sure all the circuit breakers are in the correct positions. Finally, check to make sure no fuses in your fuse panel are blown. Any of these could explain why power is not getting to your dryer.
Heating Element

It is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heating element is defective. Heating elements are irrepairable. If yours has ceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open your dryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.

hermal Fuse

Another possible cause for a dryer not heating up could be attributed to a faulty thermal fuse. Once a dryer's thermal fuse has blown, it is no longer of any use. If your dryer's fuse is blown, you will have to replace it. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its thermal fuse so that you can test it.
Thermostat

If any of your dryer's thermostats have become defective, they could be the reason that your dryer is not heating. Open up your dryer's cabinet and test each of your dryer's thermostats. If any are faulty, replace them.

Timer motor

A defective timer motor could also cause your dryer to not heat up. Test your dryer's timer motor. If it is no longer functioning as it should, replace either the entire motor assembly, or just its motor.

My whirlpool model LTE5243DQ6 is not heating up. i turn it to the max heat and it doesn't heat up. it turn on and i could hear the clothing moving but it not heating up.

Hi
If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-
1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.
2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.
3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.
4. Motor wiring shorting to ground.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

I have a stackable washer/dryer whirlpool model #WET3300SQ1. Heating element in dryer is not heating. We have replaced the heating element and it is still not working.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

yes the price of fixing it is less then a new unit most of the time.

My Kenmore Elite (Whirlpool) HE3 elctric dryer is no

A dryer not heating usually means that either the heating element is burned/broken (open circuit); a thermal fuse in line with the heating element is blown or; a thermostat is faulty.

Dryer needs to be partially disassembled to diagnose with a multimeter.

Dryer that will not dry well

One of two things... An almost totally blocked vent to the outside or a bad heating element. Remove the vent form the back of the dryer and get a "feel" for how much air flow is coming straight out without any venting connected. Then connect it back up and with the dryer running, go outside and give it the "feel test" judging as close as you can the percentage of air flow loss through the house venting. Anything more the 30% air flow loss will cause the dryer to take forever to dry. As far as the heating element, on a Whirpool, it slides up into a plenum in the back as kind of a rack type assembly. Not that difficult to replace by remove wire connecting to it, thermostats attached to it and (probably) two screws that are securing it in the plenum.

It runs, but no heat

i dont believe at this time its anything mentioned at top most people dont realize that dryers are split cuircuts
is this a 220 setup
and if its a 220
the cuircuit breaker for this is set by 110 each one for the heating element one 110 for the guages and motor
goto circuit breaker and flip the breakers this should return your dryer working ability
other thing is are the guages working properly
dryer doesnt have to run to test guages turn to the highest setting and let them run completly threw cycle if they stop on a particular setting for a long length of period then the guages are bad

Dryer not heating

Either the vent is plugged and the moisture is not escaping, or the element is no good. the failure mode for a dryer heating element is to open circuit.
