Question about Printers & Copiers

HP Photosmart 7280 all in one - I want to print in 6x4 glossy paper which is loaded in the printer but it always prints out in A4 copy paper-I've double checked the settings and it won't change to photo paper

Yes, downloaded drivers again but same problem. This problem seems to have appeared after adding a new scanner, Cannon-Canoscan4400F

  • kifty Nov 24, 2008

this solution is not addressing the problem-when I send the image to print it won't pick up the 6x4 glossy photo paper, it picks up the A4 copy paper and prints at 6x4 but on the copy paper.

Hello,

If you are printing the document from Microsoft Word, Do the following:

Select:
File >> Print >> (select your printer in the top white bar of the new window) properties.

Then you will be able to modify the printer's options and you might tell the printer what type of paper are you willing to print over.

Good luck,
Dahaka

If the print is too dark or light go Image>Adjust>Levels. Move the center triangle left or right to adjust your midtone brightness. This is called the gamma. Make sure “Preview” is checked so you can see the results. It is best to use the center triangle under the histogram and not the two triangles at the bottom. Do not use the Brightness/Contrast – even Adobe recommends against that.

If the color isn’t right go Image>Adjust>Color Balance. Set the tone balance for midtones. Check “Preview” and “Preserve Luminosity”. If there is too much red say, move the triangle away from red. A little adjustment goes a long way, so don’t use too much.

Keep track of the adjustments you make. Once you get a good print make an action of the adjustments. Name the action something like “HP Photo Paper”. Then once you get the image looking good on the screen just select the HP Photo Paper action and it will make the adjustments you need.

If u find that i satisfactorily answer ur question, do select "Fixya"icon as this is the only way i wld be paid for my services.....

Thnx....

My HP Photosmart 3310 will not pick-up A4 glossy photo paper in the main tray. 6x4 works fine in the photo tray

Your printer might have opening area for clearing paper jams, also on that area there are some rounded parts that do actual picking-up of paper. Clean those parts with some non-agresive cleaning agent and try again.

I am unable to print photographs on my D7260 HP Photosmart Printer bacause the blank photo papers are not being drawn into the machine

Have you loaded them face down? I have a 7360 and they are pretty fussy about what they will take and what they won't and how. The paper must be put in the upper drawer (if it is 6x4 paper), with the glossy side down and the drawer must be pushed right in.

CD label (Neato) printing problem

Try to change your paper type to plain paper - it could be because it is a bit glossy that it thinks it's photo paper that is not inserted correctly.

I cannot print from the top paper tray

You have to select the photo tray to print to it - the printer will always default to the main tray.

Kodak 5300 wont print on glossy side of photo paper

I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
Hope this helps others

Canon Pixma mp510

The top-loading sheet feeder accommodates approximately 150 sheets (depending on weight), and the front feeder is good for around 100 sheets. Actual media sizes supported by the main feeder (top-loading) include A4, B5, A5, Letter, Legal, Envelopes (DL size or Commercial 10), 10x15cm(4" x 6"), 10x18cm, 13x18cm, 20x25cm, and Credit Card (54x86mm), while the front feeder is less accommodating with just A4, Letter, and B5.
